Status: offline 		I stumbled onto this site a few years back and was amazed to see that it was still active it bluntly slanders Martin Luther King and spreads lies about him what I want to know is how can this site still be active the people running it must be breaking some sort law. Whats worse is that anybody who types in Martin Luther King.org will stumble upon it. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Here's a link.

Good luck on getting it removed. It's run by Stormfront, one of the largest white supremacy groups in the US. While you may not like the site they don't seem to be doing anything illegal right now. They're most likely covered by freedom of press and speech. I'm sure you're not the first person to want to try and shut them down.

To truly have freedom of speech means the right for people to say things that make your blood boil. It's their site, they got the name fair and square, they are paying to maintain it... they can say what they like. Regardless of how much it makes people want to puke.

As to the sites that seriously get on your nerves, I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of increasing their traffic, once I viewed them, and considered them ignorance inspiring, useless trash.    M

Right click it in your "favorites" and scroll down to where it says "delete". Left click that. Nuff said.

Don't even think of denying others the right to free speech, unless you want to give up your own.

Status: offline 		While getting rid of it is not an option, you could theoretically bump it off page 1 in the google search results. I took a look on siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com and found 6,577 inlinks (which is a lot) some from high page rank sites such as wikipedia and others that look like white supremacist sites (I'm not up on this but the name Tom Snyder is ringing a bell.)

martinlutherking.org is a high value URL (just the address - not the content) and someone would have to create a competing site with another high value URL and do a lot of search engine optimization to kick the .org off page 1.

This would be a great project for a communications major.

Exactly so. Many people think free speech is an "easy" option, but it isn't.

I didn't say you shared the same moral framework as them, I was merely pointing up the supreme irony in criticising someone for being "stupid" while demonstrating a deal of stupidity yourself.

When you apply for a job will your prospective employer think “that’s a bright young man my company could well do with hiring!” or will they think “well he can’t even be arsed to write a letter/email properly. I’ll bin this application and move on to the next!”.

Can you see what I'm suggesting?

Sorry for the double quote here, but I just had a thought.

Charles, has it ever occurred to you to have your Mistress read your posts here?  I've seen this subject come up a few times and if she was the one instructing you on your punctuation, it may make a greater impression.  I busted clip yesterday for something similar (he's not permitted to write the word "B/both" again) and it works in our case.  It's just a thought, but it might help.

I have a way to take down just about any site. It involves Linux and changing one certain parameter for the Mozilla browser. But I won't do it. I won't do it anywhere.

Let me put it this way, I am totally against gun control, and I mean totally. I think even if they put you in jail you should get your ammo back on your release date. Nobody else in their right mind is against gun control as much as me. Would I attack a site that promotes gun control ? NO !

The same thing that defines my right to keep and bear arms also defines their right to speak out for or against it. There are some things I just will not do. Very few things yes, but I won't.

Has it occurred to you that perhaps Charles has a learning disability and no amount of online coaching is going to get him to see how to space and use apostrophes?

People learn using different pathways in their brains.
His might be auditory or perhaps something else. Or maybe he just needs someone actually sitting down next to him with the screen and keyboard and explaining it in person... .
