Then the cookies will be eaten. I made a batch of these for Thanksgiving and froze them. Thankfully I discovered he had found the bag and eaten them all in time to make another batch.

But if he's baking, it's pecan shortbread. Those are his favorite

No the point I make is that the teen unit will understand maybe a little better that it takes time and energy to make these teasty sweets; and in turn maybe cause the teen unit to learn HOW TO BAKE on their own - smirk - then you can turn tables on the teen!

Pecan shortbread. I love those, but alas, I cant have them. I am highly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. So I have been experimenting with Soy Butter. I have used it in No Bake Cookies and in fudge. It also works great in Buckeye Bars. It has the consistency of peanut butter and works great in all the recipes I've used it in.

As I tried to say but apparently not clearly enough, he knows what's involved. He'll decide to make a batch of pecan shortbread, do the clean up and eat the end results. He just thinks that the purpose of baking cookies is to have them be eaten immediately.

He's 17, he's skinny and eats every two hours.
