I think I may have had a drink some point this summer. I can't remember for sure. But it's uncommon for me to have more than six drinks a year which includes a refill of a glass of wine at Passover.

I know it is difficult to hold a crack pipe, a latte, and a martini all at the same party.

The latte puts it over the edge.

~ Fast Reply ~

The Man and I indulge in wine on weekends. Later this month I'm taking a vacation with a girl friend and we plan on indulging in her super huge bottle of Kettle One.

However.  Twice a year the Man does an alcohol fast for a month.  He's done his two months this year, so won't be incorporating a third. :)

We watch our two grand daughters, ages 2 and 4 three days a week. Cocktail time is 4 PM when they get picked up. I will not be participating in the study.

I'll participate even though it may be rough this weekend but I'll give it a try. Its a good cause, and the white cock (HillWilliam) has given me a few great laughs, so I'm doing it for the cock.

I almost spit the water all over lol, the day I worship a cock of any color would be a national appreciation day for sure. However I do love them, but don't worship them, or maybe just a little bit, but I will make sure to "keep it up" no drinks for me for the month of October!

I hope it hasn't been as hard as you imagined (the alcohol..not the cock!)

Wow, I didn't even think about it. I did cook with it though....but that is necessary.

I wonder if October will be another drink free month......so far it has.

With the cooler fall weather I've been craving a good bottle of port.

I brought some really lovely stuff with me from the Netherlands when I got back yesterday.
Just perfect in the late afternoon after a long walk with the dog, or in the evening while reading in front of the fire.

Evil woman!

I happen to be approx 50 miles from a store selling a decent bottle right now. I was going to pick one up after work on Friday and with the chaos of game traffic (they start flying and driving in on Friday) and my frame of mind, I decided to just get the hell out of Iowa City. Now I am kicking myself.

Ok, folks, I have done this once a year for 20 years or more.  One month at random each year is "Liver Appreciation Month"  Bottom line, no alcohol for the Hill guy for a month.
I normally dont tell anyone but I've noticed a few folks on here who recently or not so recently had to give the stuff up for good so I figured why not show some solidarity?

Who else is with me to declare October, 2010 to be "Liver Appreciation Month" and show some solidarity with our fellow kinksters?

What's the worst that could happen?  You might save some money or lose some weight or get a bit healthier.

Damn, I should have read this about 20 minutes ago!! Too late for abstention tonight!

Yeah, a latte is a pretty intense stimulant. You should stick with the crack.

I haven't had any Port for at least three years. I just don't drink wines any more. And I really used to like a nice Fonseca or Quinta do Noval Vintage Port. Liked Ruby Ports, too, and really got into Andrew Quady's Zinfandel Port.

I'm sipping a Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout right now. It's seasonal, and a personal favorite. Not for the faint of heart; it's 10% ABV with the body and flavor to back it up.

Where in the Netherlands were you, CS?
