Ok, folks, I have done this once a year for 20 years or more.  One month at random each year is "Liver Appreciation Month"  Bottom line, no alcohol for the Hill guy for a month.
I normally dont tell anyone but I've noticed a few folks on here who recently or not so recently had to give the stuff up for good so I figured why not show some solidarity?

Who else is with me to declare October, 2010 to be "Liver Appreciation Month" and show some solidarity with our fellow kinksters?

What's the worst that could happen?  You might save some money or lose some weight or get a bit healthier.

I'll give it a go. No idea if I can stay on the wagon a whole month, despite doing a few white weeks, though.

I hardly touch the stuff (maybe once a year) but I'll be rooting for you all!

Like poise, I don't drink much, but I wish the best to those of you are doing this.

I'm just glad this isn't a post extolling the virtues of eating liver with onions! Ewww!

And finally, I am REALLY happy that this isn't "go a month without chocolate" post. Now THAT might cause a riot on these boards.

I am also one of the few that drinks it rarely. I definitely wont give it up for October though. I have an awesome Halloween party to go to. I will go back to not drinking in November, however.

I've not had any alcoholic beveri since Sept 16th.......two glasses of vino. (That was our company, Customer Appreciation Fish Fry) Before that I think it was a few months since I'd had any. I know I had a margarita or two when I was in Colorado in June. And I think I might have bought a bottle of wine, not for cooking, some time since.  It's not a big deal. I can take it or leave it and often I leave it. Chances are I won't be having anything for an indefinite amount of time.

Then again I might get a craving for a good bottle of port or some nice red wine and kick off a few months, of 3-4 glasses a week. Yeah, I am a booooooooooooooooze hound!

LaT, you just about took the words out of My mouth, though the dates are a bit different.  I don't think I've even had a drink since a couple of weeks before MP's most recent surgery.  With him on pain meds, I've been the automatic designated driver everywhere, so I haven't indulged.  Not even on My birthday.

I can't say outright that October will be a dry month for Me as well.  If the gig I'm doing mid-October goes well, I might celebrate a bit.

I don't drink enough  for it to matter.  I buy a 6 pack and it usually last in the fridge 2 or 3 months but some rare occasions it'll be gone over a weekend.  I drink so little anymore 2 beers have me fairly buzzed.

I am now officially a cheap date.

I don't drink but I think it's one hell of a great plan!  :D

I don't drink alcohol so I'll give up on excessive sweets instead.  :)

I'll go with it, count me in!

I usually appreciate liver in the form of pate`, but a living liver is to be appreciated also.

Sorry, while I have not had a drink in about 3 month, I will be going on vacation in 10 days, and a nice glass of port during cooking in the afternoon, or reading in the evening is among my vacation traditions.

Damn all you people who have the luxury of drinking enough that a dry month is something novel.

These days, six units and I wind up in hospital with a heartrate in the high 120s. Stupid heart.
