Wow ....where`s all those patriotic cons to the rescue, when voting rights are suppressed?

Ah....no tape of scary black men........

That`s why.Right rich?[:D]

TheHeretic -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 6:54:19 AM)

This conservative was asleep, in bed, with his wife, O59. Some of us do have to work, you know.

I believe every American (outside of those properly and legally denied - convicted felons for instance) has the right to vote, and have that vote counted, O59, and I've seen enough of Ken's links to not get myself in a tizzy because he found a political action committee's website trying to do ANYTHING to save a seat.

I expect we'll see all kinds of wild accusations in the weeks ahead, and I also expect a great majority of Americans to see right through the shrieks of "wolf."

mnottertail -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 6:58:19 AM)

Some of the rush shiteaters got fucked here in Minnesota, and several other states, from the call to chaos.... remember?  Vote for Hillary.  That automatically registered them as democrats, and made them ineligible to run as a bagger or independant or republican.

Unintended consequences.  It's not just a good idea, it's the law!!!!!

LOL.

Try that again. It almost looks like a pansy ass way of calling me a liar.

I waited till all the details were confirmed.

TheHeretic -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 7:09:58 AM)

Ken, when I wish to call you a liar, I do so quite directly. At this point, all I've said is that your links are not given high credibility.

I'll not bother repeating what I said about voting rights.

mnottertail -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 7:10:40 AM)

The conspiracy meeting at bagger hq..........shit, we already faked the acorn pimp chronicles, how are we gonna blame this one on the socialists now?

OK, everyone get out there and obfuscate, obfuscate, obfuscate, deny, deny, deny....

If we tell the lie often enough some idiots are bound to believe it.  Hey, get the birthers on this one, stat!!!!!

Termyn8or -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 7:31:57 AM)

I have no doubt things like this go on more than expected, and I've heard worse. I don't think this practice would work well everywhere, like in Ohio your voter registration usually comes in the mail so that would rebut anything they try, or at least I would think so. Of course that doesn't make it alright.

What's worse is when local law enforcement gets into it and I've heard of it happening, mainly in the south. It's just a matter of certain closed roads or opening "checkpoints", things like that. Then there were the flyers put out that told one party's voters to vote the next day "because a heavy turnout was expected". I wonder how many people fell for that one.

This practice is akin to jury tampering, but I'll refrain from lengthy commentary except to say that we need capital punishment for crimes like this. An in depth commentary would require an unabridged dictionary to find sufficiently strong adjectives.

HA!

Think.  If I told you that dead people vote in Chicago- you would say I am a conspracy theorist.

STOMP

Termyn8or -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 8:00:51 AM)

No Hunky. I got you figured out but I don't have the words for it. Myself, I consider conspiracy aware, oops, cooperation aware.

The real problem with shit like this is that there are only two ways this country is going to bet better, one is via a violent revolution of sorts, or at least an uprising the likes of which has not been seen since the civil war. The only peaceful way is to elect the right people en masse, and that means they will not come from either of the two parties. To do this the election system must be kept clean and unencumbered by improper influence.

If these things are allowed to go on, and independents gain a foothold, both major parties will probably cooperate to squash any real change, stacking the deck in their favor.

This is no fucking laughing matter, and a poor time to point fingers at ACORN or anyone like a fucking five year old shouting "WELL HE DID IT TOO ! ".

Every voter should be made to show an ID before voting. I see nothing wrong with this.

We do in TN

servantforuse -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 11:51:41 AM)

It is not required in Wisconsin. Here voter fraud is a problem. In 2008 voters were showing up at the polls only to find that they had already voted. Prosecutions are still under way.

mnottertail -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 12:08:31 PM)

It might have saved you the embarrassment of Ol Tailgunner if you had tightened up them laws.

servantforuse -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 12:14:25 PM)

Liberal democrats in Wisconsin block any attempt to make voter ID state law. That will hopefully change this November. Here you need an ID to check out a book at the library, but not to vote.

mnottertail -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 12:22:29 PM)

tailgunner was a neo-con, and you neo-con cheeseheads have had plenty of majorities in the state congress since the 50's.  looks like as always, you were asleep at the wheel, because as wisconsin goes, so goes the US, hey?

Who the fuck would want to rig a wisconsin election?  You think they want to make socialist cheese there?  That pisswater you guys sell as beer?  Someone gonna get in government and force them to make decent beer or what?

This isn't about verifying identity before voting.

Vote caging is about vote suppression by making legally registered voters be forced to cast provisional ballots and make the polling place lines long and slow moving to drive down turnout. It's illegal and unAmerican. Beyond that the Republican Party is explicitly under a court order, from 1981, to not engage in the practice.

DomKen, that's as bad as dead people voting for Ted Kennedy.
I'll bet "Mary Jo" voted Republican in that election.

servantforuse -> RE: Real voter suppression caught in the act (9/21/2010 12:52:15 PM)

Real voter suppression is the black panthers with night sticks in front of the voting house doors.
