Are you familiar with the etymology of the word "robot"?

(it lends a certain ironic twist to your question)

I want to be a hypnotized robot.

I would like to be conditioned to do the following, only:

1. shop for fabulous accessories
2. have multiple orgasms all day long
3. get paid for the above

Please refer me to the proper person for training.

That would be a pimp. Search your local prostitute hangout and ask around.[:D]

Now first off I realize not everyone believes in hypnotism. Very understandable, this post are for those that do. Hypnotism only works for those open and willing, meaning those who have an open mind and wanting it to happen to them. The robotic part of it is in turn the complete absolute control... let me rephrase legal absolute control you get when a hypnotist is able to basically program the subject temporarily. Yes it can be done permanently but that requires alot of work and live in situations. I would like to see basically who has interests in hypnotism or being a robot.

I don't have any empirical knowledge about the subject but I have looked into it and even had someone that was close to me go through a "session" while it was video taped..Which I did see.

It was pretty amazing what could be done..except it's usually not the case that the person can be told to do something that goes against their grain.

I think for things like smoking and eating and maybe even behavior modification it's extremely workable. I would imagine if it's kept in a "reasonable" arena of usages the sky may be limited to your creativity.

My brother was made to do all sorts of crazy stuff on stage at a show..Along with about 10 other people..Funny as hell..The whole family had a wonderful laugh from it..Unfortunately the tape has mysteriously vanished.

I once even watched a documentary where people were told they were getting burned by a seering metal rod of steel and the body reacted as if it were happening. The rod was of course room temperature. The mind is amazing. If it believes something is happening...no getting around it I guess.

I think for the purpose of this discussion we should separate mind control and hypnosis. In truth, we all go in and out of various trance states throughout the day. The moments before we find ourselves drifting off to sleep, when we suddenly realize that we have been driving for a while without thinking about it. Even the silence when the elevator door closes and most people "blank out". There is nothing unnatural or inherently dangerous about hypnosis. Utilizing it to deepen a relationship or to make sensations amplified and longer lasting is a wonderful feeling for all involved.

The level of trance and the quality of the results are dependent on a myriad of factors not limited to, but including the skill of the hypnotist and the trust, abilities and mental state of the subject. So yes results vary. However, an accomplished hypnotist can really work marvels in another person's life.

Much of the fiction in circulation and common beliefs about hypnosis are really references towards mind control. Additionally, much of the past century's issues and great human tragedies are the result of various thought reform movements and attempts at mind control. I think that this is an important distinction to be made before the issue can be fully addressed. However, hypnosis is often a factor in mind-control as is propaganda, limits on an individual's rights...etc.

In terms of erotic hypnosis, there is profound difference between creating a state of heightened submission and mutual pleasure and controlling another person completely. To control a person to the extent that they are unable to assert themselves at all or to be fully in a hypnotic state is often a fantasy of individuals in our culture. However, to do so would remove all interactions between both parties and you would be creating a near-catatonic partner that almost all people would not find pleasurable to interact with.
