It means that she is a Domme with a very healthy opinion of herself.

Seriously, titles are self bestowed.

Main Entry: god·dess
Pronunciation: \ˈgä-dəs also ˈgȯ-\
Function: noun
Date: 14th century
1 : a female god
2 : a woman whose great charm or beauty arouses adoration

It means they have a really bad case of narcissistic personality disorder or some other mental illness. Now I have never seen a case of this up close, but there was a man on TV recently that has the disorder. Turns out he was arrested for stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death 250 times with a pair of rusty scissors. My suggestion would be to not get too close unless you really know them really well. And even then, don't get into a relationship right away. And they probably shouldn't be using scissors without supervision.

All women are worthy of Adoration!! All women are Goddess'!!

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: When someone calls themselves a goddess what does it mean? (8/16/2010 8:57:05 PM)

I've only known one person in real life (offline,) who was actually called Goddess - Goddess Lakshimi - and she was pretty damn close to divine. I never had the feeling she was full of herself or narcissitic. In fact, she was a very charming, and caring and nurturing - in that scared the shit out of me and intimidated me kinda way.

I have a lot of respect for Goddess Lakshimi (although no clue how to actually spell her name as I knew her offline, so I'm just winging it)

Most of the time, however, there are't many other women that I could call Goddess and not roll my eyes on some level, at doing so. I guess it is all a matter of context and perception? Maybe? What was the question again?

In my case, it means I sprung fully grown and outfitted in armor from my father's head when he cracked his skull with a sword to rid himself of a headache.

I plan to grow up to be a goddess as soon as I can figure out how to get lightening to come from my fingertips... then watch your sorry ass! (You meaning just about any you with a sorry ass.)

I can't claim to understand it. I know I couldn't be that. I don't like falling and don't want anyone putting me up that high. That's gotta hurt when everyone gets disillusioned and that I can do! lol

maxthq -> RE: When someone calls themselves a goddess what does it mean? (8/16/2010 9:58:37 PM)

Ahh when you see someone on here who calls herself a Goddess then you can expect to see within the first five sentences of her profile something relating to financial domination, raping a subs wallet, tribute, etc. etc. It is the same thing when you see someone use 'Princess' in their self-imposed title. When you see either Goddess or Princess then it means you are wasting your time generally as they are only interested in your money and how you can serve them financially. There are exceptions to this rule. Goddess Lakshimi (whom I have had the pleasure of meeting on several occasions at various venues like Beat Me in St. Louis) being one of them. But she is the rare exception. Overall though, if someone uses those titles then I sadly shake my head at the fact that another 18 year old whore has come out of the woodwork. If you think that is hostile or negative on my part then simply go and do a search of female dominants and see how many come up with those titles in their name. Then take a look at their profile and you will see.

Poor angry bitter thang you

Ahh, and so the insults fly. Instead of going and taking 30 seconds to look for yourself Juliaoceania, you throw insults. How very adult of you. I should not be surprised though. Usually when I see your name pop up on a forum posting you have nothing positive to contribute anyways.

BambiBoi -> RE: When someone calls themselves a goddess what does it mean? (8/16/2010 10:09:51 PM)

Once at work we had a customer come in and request to be called "Goddess Donna" (name changed for internet <3)

I was put off.

I did look, and quickly found that you were wrong....out of a sampling of about 20 there were several who were truly seeking a submissive... now they might not be hot, young, 18 year olds... but they had the word "goddess" in their nic...

Here is the thing, I noticed you looked at my profile, I bet you were checking to see if I was a domme, or even better, a PRO domme.... I'm only a femsub. I just don't like seeing 18 year olds referred to as "whores". Now maybe that flies in your world, but in mine it is TASTELESS and NEGATIVE...

So now that you have found you can't attack me on the grounds of being a prodomme... you instead insult my posting history... news flash, I don't give a shit what someone who calls women names thinks about me.

Twoshoes -> RE: When someone calls themselves a goddess what does it mean? (8/16/2010 10:14:18 PM)

Means she won't let you top her.
Which kind of sucks.

See, if you treat a woman like a princess/goddess for 85% of the time, it provides stark emotional contrast for when it's time to treat her wrong.

(No offense to any of you ladies.)

That's why slaves make no sense to me, how would they know the difference?

Edit: The mild sadist in me seems to be up to no good.

maxthq -> RE: When someone calls themselves a goddess what does it mean? (8/16/2010 10:18:29 PM)

*golf claps* Well said, juliaoceania! You sure put me in my place there. I especially loved seeing the little ego trip where you made the assumption that I was going to attack you for being a pro-domme. Do you jump at everyone who views your profile? Way to go! Whoo hoo! So tell me, do you fly off the handle this much everyday or only when you disagree with something someone says? Do you think that perchance this might have something to do with your current... single.. status? And you at such a ripe and beautiful age and all that too!
