I wonder if Al Gore and John "French" Kerry have these showerheads installed on their yachts?
I don't think Australia where Kerry's yacht was built has the same govt. restrictions.
And guess who has the "biggest" yacht? Al Gore of course at 100 feet. Kerry's is only 72 feet. I doubt the showerheads in those yachts come from Lowe's or Ace Hardware!
Did the congress actually vote on that law that says you can only use 2.5 gal of water per minute in a shower?
I doubt Al or John are taking "sea-showers"! All the Real Sailors in here know what those are!
"Oh Luv-eee, could you pass me that hair conditioner from France I want to get all the salt out of my hair from para-sailing with those "tradesmen."

Fuck all to say about the issue under discussion, then. There's a surprise.

"Oh Luv-eee, who are those Dreadfull poor people stuck to the electric fence?" "They look like they haven't *showered* in three days and I doubt by the looks of them that they could afford the MP-5000 shower heads that the Yacht is provisioned with!" "How gauche." "Hi-HOOOE"

To be honest I am not sure what this has to do conservatives specifically.

From the article:

The showdown is a challenge to President Barack Obama and his energy secretary, Steven Chu, as they try to cajole—or compel—Americans to use water and energy more efficiently.

and again,  what does that have to do with conservatives specifically?  The only people I really find outraged about it are the people making the products.

I can't point it out to you any more clearly.

If you don't get it I guess we have to leave it at that.

I don't know about government restrictions but Australia definitely conserves water. In the more inland areas during the summer it's sort of rationed (I think it's just really expensive if you go over a certain number of gallons) and I haven't seen a toilet here that didn't have 2 flush options - one full flush and one using a lot less water.

I've never gone shopping for showerheads here so idk about that.

flcouple2009 -> RE: The conservative outrage continues (7/25/2010 4:59:02 PM)

What show down?  I can't find one.  All I found in the story was that statement and a guy who makes $5,000 plus shower heads writing his congress man.

How did that them become about conservatives

uhmmm Elisabella,

It's pointless to answer when our senile elderly go off on their tangents.  I am sure to old Popeye the places are one in the same.  But the old boat there was actually built in New Zealand originally after being  designed by someone in Rhode Island.

I do find it entertaining as hell when they don't even know the facts of the stories they post and are upset about.

Elisabella -> RE: The conservative outrage continues (7/25/2010 5:09:27 PM)

Haha NZ is part of AU the way Canada is part of the US so he wasn't *all* wrong :D

Was that statement not enough or are you just trying for a pissing contest because I opposed you on the other thread?

Really? I doubt that you drink your own piss, somehow.

Not immediately, but the water you drank this morning, and showered in, was probably dinosaur pee, 60 million years ago. Water is very old. It just keeps cycling through the system.

Lucylastic -> RE: The conservative outrage continues (7/25/2010 5:13:25 PM)

And Kiwis get just as pissed off at being said they are Ozzies as Canucks do getting pissed of at being called American.
Just sayin[;)]

Fortunately most people here know well enough to call them by their proper name.

Sheep shaggers.

*hides*

I'm looking for the conservatives running around with the signs all a flutter over their problems with shower heads.  Where exactly is this show down and uproar?  It happened because the guy wrote that line in his story?

Conservatives do enough on their own without needing to be painted in a corner every time someone is pissy about something.

Your pms moment over your pet peeve?  Please.  At the moment this post puts you on a footing with Sanity.  Too much nonsense just the other direction.

You are really starting to bore me now.

All because you got bitch-slapped on another thread.

flcouple2009 -> RE: The conservative outrage continues (7/25/2010 8:26:37 PM)

Dude your funny, sad but funny.

There was nothing, let me repeat  NOTHING , in the story that should have led to any postings about Conservative outrage.   The only people he had bitching about anything were the people who sell the fixtures.

The statement about this being a showdown was from the author of the story. There is not one statement or fact anywhere in the article about any Conservative commenting on the story much less anyone being outraged about it.

It was poor writing and you took his statement and ran with it.  There are several of the far right posters here who every time the wind changes direction they will toss it out as a liberal conspiracy.  You just did the same thing only making it a conservative one.

Okay.

I'm a liberal conspiracy nut.

Are we done now?

Used to be flush commodes had a capacity of 3.0 gallons per flush in the States but they are now mandated at 1.5 gal I think. But the paper has gotten thicker. Now it is necessary often to flush twice. Kinda ironic.
