Yes, we absolutely are supposed to be amused by it. The orange clothing and chains is all we have left, seeing as we can't throw rotten fruit at them while in the pillory. I find all the comments on this post thus far to be more than civil, especially considering that less than 250 years ago people were cheering on the gulliotine as the heads rolled off day and night.

Oh right, addiction is an illness. It's almost like she tried to commit suicide, but then again... NOT AT ALL. Yeah, you'll get locked up for being suicidal, but you didn't drive drunk and almost kill a few people while slitting your wrists in the bathtub.

Look, I'm not saying the system is right or beneficial to anyone, but you don't have to defend every half-assed person who walks a thin line. Addiction aside, she probably deserved some jail time for "Herbie Fully Loaded" anyway. We'll call it even.

I am 42. I had a cousin whom I spent the first 16 years of life with, she would be 42 also, but she died in a DUI accident. She was not driving, but she was drunk, she died when we were both 16.

Lindsay Lohan got busted ONCE in a DUI... she has not been arrested for a second. She has apparently not complied with the judge, for this she will spend 2 weeks in jail, which is what anyone else would spend in her circumstance, I think this is fair.

She is signed up for 3 months of rehab, voluntary, I hope she completes it... Robert Downey Junior had substance abuse problems, I hope LiLo follows his example

Status: offline 		even one dui is unacceptable. period. i suffer a lifetime of pain thanks to some asshat who was so drunk he didn't realize he'd hit someone so hard his engine was in the front seat next to him. there is no excuse for that kind of behavior from anyone, and a supposed star should be held to even higher standards, especially one so many young people admire.

if you want to be a drunk, stay at home and do it. i could care less. when it involves others then its time the judicial system gets involved. she has the choice of getting drunk. she made the choice of driving. thankfully she didnt kill anyone. and on top of all that she had cocaine in her possession.

enough is enough. someone needs to help this child straighten up. and if you believe 25 days in seclusion in a jail cell, seperated from other inmates, is a harsh sentence, tell that to the mothers, fathers and children who have lost loved ones to a drunk driver.

So this person should be held to a higher standard because her parents decided to make money off of her by the time she was three years old. I agree that DUIs are a serious matter, I strongly disagree that this person should be a role model for anyone. If you are so lacking in parenting skills that your kid looks up to LiLo for how they should behave, well you have utterly failed as a parent.

Yes, LiLo is responsible for her behavior, but parents who abdicate their parental responsibility to other children need to have their kids removed
