I don't wish to hijack, and I've seen what happens when a thread pointed directly at this goes wrong, but there does seem to be a remarkable level of restraint and responsible behavior among the media when it comes to Islamic issues. That restraint becomes even more remarkable when we look at how the media covers any other thing they might be able to sensationalize a little bit.

Santuary from persecution should be granted, if someones life is in danger. The problem is many asylum seekers are bogus and some people dont like to admit the fact.

Rich, that certainly isnt the case in the UK, which is why I am wondering about the case in question.

As for America, Hilary Clinton mentioned womans rights in Afghanistan, when interveiwed on tv just this week.

NG, so following your logic, since you responded to a post on here, you MUST reply to everysingle post, no matter what, right?

You can't pick and choose where you want to reply. Its all or nothing. If you are going to put you comment on a post, you MUST on all posts (on this board and all others),

What exactly would happen if a nation decides to act in some cases and not in others?

You declared it is all or nothing, but what is the penalty for violating your (unfollowed by yourself) rule?
