I hate to disagree, but I must. I can't stand it when the phone rings. It is usually for Woman and recently I have declared that I am changing the phone number. Now I have already said it but soon I will use it when someone calls from the same number within ten minutes. It is MY phone and I will pick it up when I damnwell please and I will say "Woman, it's them, they are wiping their ass and need your advice". And I will not have it tied up. Anything that is just "Hey, how ya doin'" should be limited to twice a year. Change phone numbers, call. If I change mine I will call. If everything is business as usual then screw it. The advantage of email is that it is not real time. You compose, they read and then respond when and if they decide. It is entirely possible that a busy person might relegate responding to such emails on Sunday evenings or something. And if so maybe someone has a real problem. If they are a good doctor, real and good, dedicated, all that, something like this might just draw alot of their attention, and I think rightly so. And there are so many other things, an email could be misdirected to a spam directory, or simply lost. And nowadays could get cught in a spam filter, or even be deemed to contain a virus, by your ISP or his. Or you could have a virus, or your ISP's server could have a virus. And all this about email and ISPs, how much time does he have to respond to simple greetings ? IMO you made too much out of this. You know I hardly ever answer my phone, well any of them. Youse humans are addicted to communication. T ETA : I see where I screwed that up but..... oh well.
