ORIGINAL: pegbundy What has changed? Insurance companies are running things. My current doctor does get us in same day when need be, but the search for her was not an easy one. Peg...i hear you, but honestly, if a doctor allows an insurance company to dictate when/how he responds to his patients, he is not a doctor...he is a business man. I would not just walk away from him, i would run. We are in complete agreement sirsholly. Sadly, it can be quite a challenge finding a doctor who is devoted to the practice of medicine - the actual care of patients. It is worth the effort, though. The difficulty is that for the doctors who do return calls and do take time with each patient they often get used and taken advantage of by these very same patients. (speaking as the daughter of one of these old-style doctors who would have patients turning up at home on weekends for minor problems, or accosting him at shopping centres wanting him to write a script to save them going into the clinic or ringing the clinic and saying they had an emergency and needed to talk with him urgently only to find that they wanted some free advice....I have a thousand of these stories) Nookie if it is so important make an appointment and go in. I hope everything is alright with you.
