We just got a 32% increase on 1-1-10. PPL.

This after the prior year had a 4-7% increase.   The prior year was 9%.

Well they just filed a paper with the utility commission. For - an INCREASE.   They soften the blow- by saying this is not a generation fee but a transmission fee. So what?   We say- generate the power- but I will pick it up?

These increases are troubling- PA lifted rate caps even after Enron screwed CA.

Notice how anything they can quantify- that they then can control- in this case a price increase.

I once did some digging- and the board of directors are interchangeable- with- are you ready?    The so-called competition.

I did switch companies- but PPL most likely is the "transmission" company.

Did you electric rates go up?

What does it cost for a month to run your house?

FR Write to you state utility board and complain about the increase as they are the ones that approved it.
Ask the power co for a copy of the papers that gave permission to raise it.
That amount of increase is ridiculous.

Last year when I was using electricity for heat my bill ran around 400. per month.
Now it is under $50.

rates for sewer will double in nearby town. then guess what? an official busted for fraud- 300k. forging checks of the til. for some reason we have had alot of that in the past few years. They always get found out- and always get busted.

PA electric is going to be de-regulated (or something like that), they have been telling us for 2 years that the electric costs will sky rocket. Perhaps this is part of that situation?

Well I am simply pointing out that this has been known in this particular commonwealth for years, it was signed by Ridge during his term, and one can google Pennsylvania electric deregulation and get a ton of information. You can hate the electric company, but there is more to the story for the informed.

Thank you for this cogent reply to the topic.

I was in touch with my rep on stopping the dereg and the newspaper had in it- where Lewisburg had entered the phaze first. Prior to my town. People was unhappy- then the story dropped. Luckily this house does not require alot of electric- but other places do. I wonder if I could use gas more.... I heat and hot water with gas. I have only energy bulbs- and very little is plugged in.

All those major corporations only have OUR best interest at heart. We need to stop being so mean to them and let them do whatever they want. Why can't people see how much the corporate world loves and cares for us? Poor corporations, I feel sorry for them.
