I like the way Aaron Neville does that song.

Jeff Buckley Hallelujah

My favorite^^^version of this song

I like the way Aaron Neville does any song...especially Amazing Grace

(sorry for the interruption)

Fast Reply -

I always enjoy watching the opening ceremonies.  But the whole feel was a bit too New Age for my tastes.  The dueling fiddlers and the Celtic dancing were great.

Due to the timedifference i have to can all the stuff and watch it later so i just finished watching the opening ceremony. I remember the last one in Italy and it was a marvel of tecnincal exellence. Luckily enough Canada choose not to try and overtrumph it but made a wonderfull show much more based on the human part. I loved the way they took the indigenous people to centerstage and the way they managed to convey the fact that Canada really is a melting pot for many kultures and people. All in all a truly remarkable and memorable show. Two solid thumps up for that one, and now let the icehockey begin. I am not rooting for Canada on that one Go Suomi go.

That's one thing I love about this particular Olympics - with only a three hour time difference I can watch many of the events live.

The Salt Lake City Olympics also incorrporated Native Americans into it's opening show - unfortunately, they also brought Donny and Marie Osmond into it. Oh, well. Like I said, every show has to have at least one flub in it!

I agree (about the show, not about the hockey - GO USA! ). I've always loved the Olympic Opening shows. It give the locals a chance to promote what is positive about them and introduces the world to a culture they may know little about. The one that sticks in my mind the most is the Athens Olympics. That show was absolutely beautiful. I particularly liked the part where a runner went around a track representing previous Olympics - but stopped and dropped to one knee for those years the games weren't held due to wars. It was a stark reminder that the unity we seek - the unity that the Olympics seeks to promote - still eludes us.

I am already looking forward to London's show.

For a big commercial thing I'd say she did great. I like the way Aaron Neville does that song.

The best part of KD Lang doing that song is how many people went to check out the JB version. The views on that video have sky rocketed in the past few days. Jeff Who?

Loved the opening ceremony - the whales, the fiddlers and dancers, the looks on Gretzky and Nash's faces when they were waiting on the last part of the torch to rise.... great from start to finish.
