God, Fleetwood Mac was the worst! The drummer could eat a bologna sandwhich while he was playing the same beat over and over and over again for every song, "Ba boom ba, ba boom ba, ba boom ba."
And the singer sounded like someone was pulling a cat's tail! A garage band!

I was not even in existence, but I still grew up with all of these! Only radio station I could remember when I was young played 60s, 70s, and 80s music, so that's what I listened to.

Let's see... My all time favorite will always be Simon and Garfunkel, though that's 60s.

Well, while the 70's may literally be before my time, I still enjoy a plethora of music from that era(as any other era's music as a matter of fact),From Blaring Guitar Solos of afro funk to the recorded experiments in harmony of young British anarchistic squatters...

Shit, you even gotta love some of the crap of those years, I mean how can you not appreciate a American Pop song about a super creepy Russian Cult(eral)figure...

of course If I were to play something from when I was young(er...then now) I guess I'd have to post some Easy E haha

and am I mistaken in thinking that there isn't any Boss in this thread yet

Mick Fleetwood is generally acknowledged as a pretty great drummer. Granted, he's no John Bonham or Keith Moon, but then again, Mick is still alive :D But he's always been creative, innovative, and above all, passionate. He's been featured in countless music magazines, both in print and online. He's also picked-up a few Grammy's over the years. Not bad for mediocrity.

And again I ask: who are you listening to these days that does not have some sort of roots to the 70's and 80's?

Stella, they were fucking terrible! They gave "garage bands" with 16 year olds a bad name! And what is a "doo-wap" kind of guy?

Popeye I'm pulling your leg.. and I guess (as I can only guess as you haven't said) that you prefer music from the 1960's and if this is the case I would have to agree that the 1960's was the defining decade for popular music, and yes there was a lot of crap in the 1970's and 1980's but there was also a lot of good music too.

Doo-wap? Well it's those bands from the 1950's and 1960's that had the male backing vocalist singing 'doo wappa doo wappa doo' along to the main singer, such as Gene Chandler's Duke of Earl.

And if you think that the 1970's was bad, well what do you think of the 1950's? It was all beige, bland, (rather like today's music in fact but that's just my opinion) and positively vomit-inducing until Elvis Presley came along. There's an older generation that I have a great deal of sympathy and respect for, because not only did they experience the Second World War during their childhood, but they somehow managed to get through their teen years in the 1950's.
