My Vitamin D level dropped to 7, and my feet and knees were killing me.  Once I got it back up, the pain stopped.

The key though is being able to keep that level raised. For some of us like lovingpet and myself, it ain't so easy. Often, someone just tapping me on the shoulder can feel like they are using a hammer. It sucks.

I am feeling a little better, but still not even close to recovered from my little misadventure the day I posted this thread. I am just keeping up and keeping on as best as I can. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so hopefully it will be of some kind of help. I appreciate all the support I have gotten. You all totally rock!

Oh and as for the vitamin D thing, believe me, I have studied that monster to death and I have my own theories and am almost certain what needs to be done. Now the issue is convincing my doctors that it is what needs to be done. Grrrrrrrr

Have you seen an endocrinologist?  He'd have some insight into that, and would be the go-to guy for parathyroid stuff.

It's my endocrinologist, unfortunately, that will not do the scan for the parathyroid condition. I have even offered to have it billed directly and not sent through insurance just to get them to do it already. If it found something, then we could file it and the insurance would really have no choice but to pay for the test. If not, I would shut up about the whole thing and pay off the bill. It is a simple scan, nonevasive aside from injecting some dye. My endo is stating that the parathyroid issue is secondary to the vitamin D deficiency and if we corrected the deficiency, the parathyroids would go back to normal. Some of my research suggests otherwise. I am going to continue to ask for/demand this test until she finally cracks. I swear it really shouldn't be this hard.
