Hello everyone. Seeing as though the last season of LOST is right around the corner I was wondering if anyone here was a fan of the show. What is everyone's idea on how the show is going to end or the answers to some of the questions brought forth at the end of last season?

Rule -> RE: LOST (1/13/2010 4:36:10 AM)

I have watched a fair bit of past seasons. The acting is good. I do not like the way the stories develop, though: the authors are keeping essential information from the viewer, divulging it only at the last moment. I hate that. It does not make the series interesting to me, but obnoxious.

I never heard of it.

Fully fledged, one hundred percent obsessive, Lostie here. I’ve been hooked since day one. I’m so obsessive over it that I’ve disregarded other shows I might have a similar interest in (I can only afford one television obsession at a time). I have to, have to, have to know what is going on with that fucked up island (plus there are a lot of hot babes on it). With these writers, I have know idea how it’s going to end. I have some things I would like to see:

Sawyer and Juliet end up stuck on the island in the past. They live a happy life but when they die they end up being the bodies (the one with the backgammon board nearby) found in the first season. Rose and Benard are also prime candidates to become these bodies.

Jack and Kate eventually get off the island and have a happy life together (I’m a sucker for happy endings). Of course, Sun and Jin get reunited.

Oh hell, there are so many characters I couldn’t possibly list my hopes for all of them.

I do have some fears about how it will end. Fear number one: the characters are stuck in an endless time loop and the ending takes us back to the beginning with the original plane crash. One of the shows themes is fate versus free will and this would be coming down on the side of fate. I think that would be a bummer.

My biggest fear will be a “revelation” that it was all somebody’s dream. It sucks whenever a tv show does that (Dallas, Roseanne, and of course… um… that hospital show whose name escapes me right now). It basically means everything you watched (all that time and emotion invested) were for nothing.

I am a Lost Junkie

I got to the end of the third season...I have four  and five to watch, but dont spoil it for me [:)]
Hugo is my favourite,
Yes Im a fan, but I save them up and watch a couple a night... I just like to watch them one after the other, I do that with Greys, Heroes and Dexter oh and House.
Of course that means that I miss all the goings on at the time they air, but thats fine

If you run through the jungle a couple of times with some heavy breathing, have a deadly fight with some black smoke and mysterious wild animals then that'll just about cover seasons one through infinity.

LillyoftheVally -> RE: LOST (1/13/2010 12:47:09 PM)

I watched the first season, thought it was a little too lord of the flies like, then whenever the polar bear turned up I stopped watching it, I thought it would have been ace as a one season show, two at a push, I think its dragged on a bit too long

rockspider -> RE: LOST (1/13/2010 1:22:10 PM)

Well I am a fan of the Americans, but if I ever should come to hate them it would be because of one of three reasons. McDonald, Coke a Cola and 90 % of the crappy television series they make. [sm=blasted.gif]

I have to say I think Flash Forward is great but annoyingly they cut it off half way through.

Style over substance a lot of these types of programmes however.

subtee -> RE: LOST (1/13/2010 1:26:56 PM)

But we have so many better reasons to hate us!

I adored sports night, honestly best comedy ever made in my opinion, they pulled it after two seasons, at least they let them finish the season though, nowt worse than getting into something to find it canceled. (My sister threw a fit over reaper) It is so odd, some of the crap that keeps getting made while some really clever well written things dont last at all

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: LOST (1/13/2010 1:34:04 PM)

No I don't think it was permanently cancelled for some reason they split ito two half before Christmas and after Christmas.

It is quite a good programme for me as it contains the age old question of determinism versus freewill.

I have no idea about Sayid and the pill. When it comes to that I am... dare I say it?... Lost. My first thought was that, just as the Anti-Jacob "became" Locke so Jacob was going to "become" Sayid in order to counter the Anti-Jacob. The fact that the Others wanted to kill Sayid would seem to go against that but then, they may be just as clueless as the Losties (and us) as to what the big picture is.

I do have a new theory as to the overall plot of the show, although with this show you can never be sure so I admit that I could be completely wrong.

I think that Jacob and the Anti-Jacob are some sort of very advanced aliens and/or supernatural beigns. The Anti-Jacob commited some crime and so was imprisioned on earth within a time loop, and Jacob was sent to watch over him - a warden, in other words. Now anti-Jacob (through manipulating the Losties and others, has found his loophole and is making his escape but Jacob has some trick up his sleave to counter him.

That seems like some good guessing to me

guessing is all you really can do with this show.  Sometimes after watching it I fell like I've just smoked a big fat doobie.  [8D]

Raises hand*

I am a LOST fanatic. I have not missed an episode since day 1. Shut off all the phones and everyone knows not to call or stop over when its on. My 20 yr old daughter is also a LOST fan and we watch it together.

During the commercials we bitch to each other about how confused we are (LOL) and that they are still hitting us with more questions than answers But I love this show. I am so sad its the final season. I just hope they pull out all the stops and make the ending worth something and not something terribly stupid.

I really enjoy how characters I hated in the beginning I now love and characters I used to like I now cant stand.

Is it Tuesday yet? :-)

Laura
