quote:
ORIGINAL: BranDOM I find I have a pretty good imagination once I get into the groove, but getting there can sometimes be a challenge. How do you find you "get inspired"? Hello Bran, I so love the word "inspired"... To get inspired is a skill like any other. One must practice. By being open to something new and finding what might work. As you talk to others, read, and open your mind, imagination grows. Take, for example, the idea of a cane. All it really is is a dowel of some sort. A long stick. What other things are long sticks? Things around you? Rulers, cooking spoons, hairbrushes, the plastic on the side of a report cover, chopsticks, back scratchers, a candy cane, tubes from wrapping paper, etc. They will each have a different sound, feel, purpose, but the experimentation is fun. You try something, figure out if it works, and keep going from there. Even Einstein said that Imagination is more important than Knowledge because knowledge is limited and imagination "embraces the whole world". Practice! best, sunshine
