In regards to feeling insecure with the size of your genitals, and from a purely artistic perspective, I actually preferred it when my models weren't modelesque. When I draw the human form from memory, I always tend to draw petite, curvaceous white women with small breasts because that's my body type and what I know. The best model I ever had was a middle aged, over-weight black man because his body was as far from mine as it was possible to get and I had to really pay attention to correctly get his likeness. It was one of the best life drawing sketches I've ever done.

Not sure how I'd feel about my model getting turned on, though. Awkward is the adjective that springs to mind.

thanks for the info about payment and where to go...

... i have attended life classes in the past but never actually talked to the models... they came in when we were all busy with our easels and charcoal and were still working or cleaning up when they left again
They might well have had Doms waiting in the corridor to whisk them away and if they did, well good for them.

I don't know why some people get so.... well for want of better words - in denial- about the modelling job... of course it is somewhat exhibitionist and a bit sort of pimping if you get money for it... no matter how much a person loves art... and i am not saying modelling is not a hard job, but to stand there and let others look at you in such detail... to assume poses for money... if you do not block the thought... and convince yourself it is just a job...
no matter how nice and respectful the art students or photographers treat the model... i nevertheless think that the model is indeed selling their body and or being an exhibitionist and i think that is very sexy

of course as an artist i would never say this to the model... and as a model i would never wanted to be embarrassed by having to hear such talk... hopefully people have manners and follow the unspoken rules so we can all enjoy ourselves.

So talk to your partner and if she thinks it is a good idea then go with it

There's a lot more opportunity to work in tit bars than as an artists model... and that often does have a sexual overtone without needing to be prostitution.

also that you did not feel anything sexual being a nude model or drawing one is of course how you experience these things... others do experience other things indeed...

i would not go as far al calling it kink really... it is just a scenario that might turn a person on... some people get turned on sitting in the bus feeling the vibration of the engine whilst looking at a sexy person... that is not kink imo either... just life.

long enough ago the artists had to beg prostitutes to pose for them because no 'decent' girl would undress for them...
and also plenty of artist ended up in bed... or on the floor doing sex things with their models because... well... most people actually have some sort of sexual reaction to this scenario posing nude, one on one
of course when one poses for a group, people are more cagey about their feelings... rightfully so... like sitting in the bus and not actually jerking off but just enjoying the moment...

The people who keep arguing for sexual vibe with artist's models have OBVIOUSLY never seen a session. You can't get further away from sexy.

Artist modeling is surprising hard work, and you don't get a lot of room for sexual thoughts because you are thinking "My god it's cold, are these kids going to draw my goosebumps??!!" "How much longer til the break, I HAVE TO PEE!" "I am gonna kill the instructor who placed me in this completely unbearable damn position, my back is killing me!" and so on.

The people who are drawing/painting/etc. from the model have the creative and analytical part of their brain focused on the creation of the art, not sex.

If it's exhibitionism you want, Google for BDSM and the name of your town (or local larger towns if you live in some tiny East Jesus town) and look for munches. A munch is completely vanilla and clotehs on, but that's where you meet people and can learn about workshops and play parties and actual opportunities to strut your naked stuff.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the OP has hit upon this as a way to do the exhibitionism without getting arrested. You might be able to wrangle one session, but if you are obviously aroused or act in a way that makes the art students uncomfortable then you WILL be asked to leave and not allowed to come back. Much better to find a venue in which you can express your exhibitionism that's suited for it.

I have been an artist's model, too (both nude and period costume) and I have to go along with Drifa on this. You may have thought it sexy to watch, but to the model- well it's more about trying not to concentrate on how uncomfortable you are and counting the seconds until you can move again....

I did find it freeing, but not sexual, because I had to confront my body image issues and be nude in front of strangers. That they didn't go running screaming from the room when I took off my robe helped a lot. lol.

One of Van Gogh's friends also married lots of underage girls and made them be his models, let's apply this to all of life modeling too. Who wants to line up for the sysphillis?

You might become aroused while sitting for artists. But that doesn't making modeling in and of itself sexual.

that would be all of me and i do claim it. I was not pimping myself in an art class, so people could look at my body. If you see it that way, so be it. You are the first 'artist' that I know or come across who sees it that way. Many see the body as beautiful, in all shapes and sizes, and perhaps sensual. However i can think of better ways to 'pimp' my body back then and make better money. Actually was approached ages ago to do x rated movies. i decline, cause just not me.

I am not by no means an artist, though i sketch for my own pleasures. I view art in a different way then you do. I did the life drawing class for 2 reasons, money and my love for art.

I also adore Pre-Raphaelite era and their sensual painting of women.

I posed both nude and clothed for a few college level drawing classes as a young painting major myself. The settings were drafty industrial buildings and definitely not sensual or erotic. It's a liberating experience, I would recommend it for that reason and to enjoy meeting other artists, but not as a surreptitious form of play. I also posed privately for a few well known older artists; in one case it turned into a long term sexual relationship.

More recently, I had a partner pose nude privately for an artist friend. This was for my own voyeuristic pleasures but these were not intended to be academic settings from the beginning. She also "posed" nude at private parties as part of our Dom/sub interactions. It's just nudity, it's really not that big a deal. After a few times it became normal and we pushed the envelope further, but I do enjoy showing off my lady to groups of men or couples at a private social occasion.
