I know a lot of subs are very into being displayed by their dom/mes but the idea of having subbie pose nude for art is not something I've seen anywhere. It's actually dead easy to get the chance in London (you can audition as a first timer) and there are always artists who need models. I've posed a couple of times for classes and it's a huge buzz. I'm poorly endowed which was the reason I got into it, to challenge myself and to have the guts to satisfy my exhibitionist urges despite my appearance. I know a lot of small dick subs have to get used to showing themselves off to people in the scene and to those in the know, but this would be a totally legitimate way to display subs to the wider world. They might find that that would be a much greater challenge than being nude in front of a big-dicked bull or another domme in the privacy of the bedroom. The pay's okay and there's also the side benefit of being able to help out artists who won't care too much what the model looks like as long as they can strike a few poses, keep still and not get an erection. I'm not in a domme/sub relationship but I would love it if this was something I did to please mistress. She could take all the money earned and enjoy having her little sub get his kit off for whoever she deemed fit. This to me seems a tamer way to "pimp" out a sub without turning him into a prostitute which is a step too far for many I think. The downside is that a chastity device would be out of the question during the session and any evidence of serious punishment on the buttocks might not go down too well!

I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to become more comfortable displaying your body by working as an artist's model. Normally this involves posing for classes. And part of the way that works is that artists are generally interested in the human form as it actually exists and moves, not in some idealized photo-shopped fashion fantasy. But as a kink thing... meh. Unless you've found a modern-day Egon Schiele to pose for. In which case, um... hot.

When I was in college I posed for life drawing classes. It's not sexual at all. It's hard work because you have to STAY STILL -- you get cricks and cramps and you just tough it out until the break. Despite the best efforts, art classrooms are always drafty. And so far as I can see, no matter how good I actually looked at the time, the students drew some monstrosity in their heads because they got graded better for "seeing with a different eye". It was VERY rare to have someone actually draw me, as I was. But it paid pretty good for a college part-time job. As an artist, I would NOT want some guy who was getting all sexually fired up as a model, either. I want a model to be like a lump of clay. I want them not to talk, they have to STAY STILL. The best models are art students themselves who have been in life drawing classes. They understand what the artist needs from a model. Nowadays almost all my art is either pen-and-ink or else 3-D graphics, and for the latter no model is needed, the art IS the model.

~Fast Reply~ As an artist, I'm not entirely how I would feel about someone being commanded to be model who didn't want to on their own. From the other point of view, I've modeled as well and quite enjoyed it on a completely non-sexual level. It was incredibly liberating to decide, for myself, to be naked and allow so many others to see me and make beautiful things from my image. It was actually quite empowering to me and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Ages ago I use to be a life model for the art school at college. At that time, I never viewed it as a sexual thing, nor knew any other models who did. Sitting still for the time period was what I focused on.

Depends on the specifics. I got 50 an hour. The jobs can be hard to find though. In my experience, it was usually someone the instructer knew personally who was selected.

I've never paid anyone. There are plenty willing to do it for free. I also would have ZERO interest in some guy wanting to do it to get his jollies.

I'll pose for free for close friends. Where I was getting paid was for a group drawing project that went on for several hours (actually I think it was from about 6 PM to 3 or 4 AM) and there about a hundred or two hundred people wandering in and out and about six or ten models at any given time, doing anything from fifteen second gesture poses to an hour long pose.

I've never posed for a class but I pose all the time for my friends, quite a few of them are art or photography students. The photo I use as my avatar is a reject from a set where I got progressively more naked and fetishy, ending up with kneeling naked outside in the snow, hands behind head, waiting to be allowed back in. I guess I always get the short straw because they know I'm pretty easygoing about what they want me to do? I don't think I'd like to do it as a sexual thing though (I would, if it was asked of me by some future D but not right now) I don't really have exhibitionist urges, and it seems like that would get in the way of what the artist wanted, which is not always me slutting it up. Oh and I'd never ask for money for it from my friends, but they usually give me a cut if they sell the stuff, which is rarely these days.

Hey I just wanted to say I really liked your idea.. Of course, the art students wouldn't want to know the reason you are there, you are just an object. Which feeds into the desire by many for that sense of objectification. I think that it would be a good setting for exhibitionist tendencies and also potentially could be used as a form of humiliation. As for "freely choosing" with so many shades in the bdsm world from slave to Dominant, everyone freely chooses to live within the boundaries of their relationship. I have told boys what to do, although nothing that has earned money!! LOL But I can see the appeal and the fun of it. I think it'd be fun to order a boy to do this even if there was no money involved. But that's just me. Of course, anyone who serves me has the choice whether to submit or to find another... and naturally, I respect limits. If the limits clash too much with my desires, then I know we both have a wrong fit, and there's nothing wrong with admitting that either. It doesn't make my desires nor their limits wrong, just a bad match. Have a good one.

At least in my school, we were taught to take care of our models. They are people who are providing a service we need and holding perfectly still for an hour is no laughing matter. Treat your model well or stick to fruit. I would truly be disgusted with any artist who saw their model as an object unless they were in an already agreed upon dynamic. As an artist, I would be extremely uncomfortable and feel used if someone agreed to be my model to get their humilation kink filled because, as both model and artist, there is nothing humiliating in it.

The people who would be in the class would not have any reason to know that there was any kinky motivation behind the models reasoning. They are a model to them and as you said, they are treated well My point is that people will often ascribe whatever rationale that they are accustomed to. If a model behaves in a manner that is fully typical of any other model. That is, is respectful, holds still, does what they are supposed to do, people will see them as a model. I am sure there are many reasons people model for an art class, from money to a love of art, to whatever. If the one who has been told to do this gives any reason for anyone there to suspect that he isn't like any other model, then he is in the wrong. I am totally not into making other people uncomfortable for my kink. As long as there is nothing to indicate an ulterior motive you would assume that the model is there for reasons you hold to be acceptable.

That's true and fair enough I suppose, as long as they stick to classes with only adult students. Though, for me, knowing how uncomfortable it could make people if they ever found out, I would personally would do not something like this to get a kink scratched. OP, a thought just occured to me... Why not contact your local kink community and find artists there who could use models? While it would make me uncomfortable if I didn't know what was going on, it could also be a great deal of fun to get to draw someone in various states of bondage or during a scene.

I posed as a nude model when I was younger in undergrad at University. I didn't find it sexual, and to be honest, I didn't get a sexual vibe from the room. Yes, there was a certain sensuality but there often is in art. And it didn't feel particularly Dominant or submissive. It did paid well for the time. - LA

ranja I was a life model in the early 70's. The University paid, but I haven't a clue what they are paying now. It isn't a lot, believe me. I was fortunate that one of my best friends was modeling and she got me in. It is not real easy sitting for an hour absolutely still. Check your local colleges and see.
