Status: offline 		Why when i am willing to pay weekly as a lodger to live with a dom lady or couple,is it so hard to find such a couple even though i wish to be a domestic slave & would carry out all domestic duties.Who wouldn't want a live in slave obeying there every order catering to there every whim & getting paid for the privelege.Seems strange.

1.  Sounds like a lot of work for the lady / couple if you ask me....

2.  Being an owner is a HUGE responsibility. 

3.  Some folks have concerns about having a stranger live with them. 

4.  Not everybody can be bought.

Doesn't seem a bit strange to me.  And these are just off the top of my head.
Perhaps you need to look at them as people rather than owners... That might help get you somewhere.

OP,

You've been here less than two weeks...patience is a wonderful trait for anyone, especially a slave, to have. 

A couple things come to my mind in regards to this scenario.  What experience do you have that relates to a domestic position?  You make no mention of anything specific in your profile and only mention being "  proficient in all domestic/household duties"...why not offer a list of examples?  Have you served as a butler professionally?  Have you any experience with cooking/catering?  Have you done work as a personal assistant or served in a house management capacity?  Simply offering to pay someone to take you on for "domestic roleplay" isn't enough of a draw for some people to take a strange 48 year old man into their home.  How do you feel about background checks? 

This post and your profile are, in my opinion, very "me" oriented...that could be seen as a turn-off.  Also, as mentioned by others, many people approach service as a private couple.  In your profile you state you're looking for, among other things, joining a poly household.  That may be your best option.  I would suggest you use the search feature in the upper right-hand corner and do a search for things like "service", "domestic" and the like.  There are atleast 2 members I know of who have done wonderful posts in the past relating to the running of a victorian style household (another topic you could search) and either being a domestic or having domestics in the home.

Stop whining and get proactive.proficient in all domestic/household duties

Status: offline 		Owning a slave means that the Owner is in charge.  Being a landlord means that, in return for a monthly rent, the tenant is in charge.  I consider the two to be incompatible.

Why don;t you "repackage" yourself as being a live-in slave to a woman/couple, who is willing to help with the household income?  That's more common.  (Actually, I just checked your profile and that IS how you present yourself.)

In that case, the answer is that you haven't found the right one(s) yet.  Keep looking.

My first answer is that I don't know you any better than I do any other random person who is out there.  That means that it's possible that you are a wonderful human being who is the salt of the earth.  There is another possibility that you could be no better than a common thief and I wouldn't want you having access to My computer, credit card statements, or any other thing of value in My home.  There's too much risk involved, even if you are willing to pay room and board.

Exactly as sunshinemiss said. For me, at least, I am unable to separate out authority from responsibility. And I would have ZERO interest in accruing that level of responsibility for someone I did not love.

I come from farmers on both sides of my family, and I've well known from a young age--livestock comes with responsibilities.

I think twice before bringing in a dog or a cat. Once in my home, the responsibility for its well-being is mine.

The benefits have to outweigh the costs, implicit as well as explicit.

Status: offline 		I would say for most lifestyle dynamics it's not just about the servitude but the emotional attachment!.... the servitude is actually seen as an expression of that emotional attachment for such relationships.

Status: offline 		Well, since joining a poly household is one of your listed goals, I will go from that perspective.  A poly household is based on love.  Love takes time and knowledge of the people involved.  Love does not develop from a single email to say I will pay you rent.  We have been looking for a while now, but we started looking with the perspective of just because we are looking for a submissive didn't mean that it would take any less time to get to know the perfect person than it would in any normal relationship.  Just our thoughts.  I guess a better question to ask yourself would be do you really want to join a household that would jump all over the offer to be paid rent without feeling the need to get to know you first?

As has been well pointed out ownership is a LOT of work and responsibility, we don't want or require romantic love but do have a lot of requirements and needs from our slave. Compatibility is hard to find and takes time. You don't say anything about what skills and talents you bring to the table, what your bdsm and fetish needs are or how you see your life going.... How do you expect to be 'found'?

That you use the term 'weekly lodger' leads us to believe you are looking for a commitment less relationship from your point of view (well one week at a time) and owners inherently make a large commitment. Maybe a pro domme would fit your needs better... you pay and get what you want without a commitment.

Status: offline 		£100 per week minimum.I will eat only what you feed me & i would be happy to be kept in a locked empty room when i am not serving you so i would only require a light bulb,no tv,hifi etc.
