A British woman lost her appeal Tuesday against a ban on her noisy sex sessions, after a court heard how her marathon romps that kept neighbours awake sounded like someone being murdered. Caroline and Steve Cartwright's "howling" lovemaking sounded "unnatural", "hysterical" and "like they are both in considerable pain", Newcastle Crown Court in northeast England heard.

Hmmmm, now there's a "community standards" issue if I ever heard one.

Interesting as I have the upstairs suite for rent. This is my house and I haven't rented it for decades. Suffice it to say I did not spend all that money on stereo equipment to let it lay silent. But I can have some respect and quiet down for the good of,,,,, whatever. Very similar issue. They are allowed to have loud sex, but then their rights do have to end where another's begin at the very least.

This sort of issue is a manifestation of overpopulation. I like to rock this house when I damn well please, and can do it with near impunity because of certain things. Best would be space - if I lived out in the sticks, perhaps a half mile from neighbors I could have concerts every day, outdoors even. But as it is I have to close windows, I have a double cieling and have carefully placed my speakers not only for sonic purity, but to try to concentrate the sound in my house.

His neighbors give us funny looks when we see them after sex....I can be pretty loud....
We haven't had any complaints, just dirty looks from the couple next door. Jealousy is a terrible thing.

, isn't it? They wish they had it so good, huh? And I so agree with DesFIP. If they knew how loud she is, why not at least attempt to camoflauge some of the noise?

You misunderstand me luci, she knows that she sounds like a tomcat in heat so it is her responsibility to sound proof her apartment and drown out the sound. It is not the neighbor's responsibility to have to buy three carpets and keep the stereo on all the time. The person who makes the noise is responsible to not bother their neighbors.

If I was the poor neighbor I would have taped it and played it back continuously speakers against the common wall until they learned to take responsibility for themselves.

I doubt it's jealousy. Having living college dorms, being very loud myself and being around people who are very loud during sex... it's just fucking rude when the walls are thin. It's hard to concentrate on writing a paper or balencing a checkbook when your neighbors aren't polite enough to at least attempt to muffle themselves. Or you know... heaven forbid they invite someone into their home who also doesn't want to hear sex noises. Like a kid.

Its just like any other loud noise. If it disturbs your neighbors you got to cut it out. Fuck a pillow though, that will never work they should invest in a gag of some sort.

, yeah that would teach them. No, I understood what you meant. I meant that if they (the couple) knew how loud she was, they should have taken measures to muffle it like the soundproofing you mentioned. When I re-read it, I see how it could have read either way.............luci

Aquatic's college reminisces made Me remember a time in college when I was playing with a lady that was ummmm loud. My apartment mates went out and gathered at least 20 people into the living room and when we came out, we got a standing ovation. Embarassing but fun.
