Age makes things different... When I was 18, each conversation, every glance held oh, so many possibilities...

Now I could get dumped three times in an afternoon and hardly feel it.

wow! THIS has got to be one of the best things I have read in my LIFE!!
It made all the difference to ME at this time in my life..as well as OP
hopefully..ty K..

WE can easily think how we are stirred to anger..sadness etc
by an event..person etc and yet forget( me anyway) that love is FROM US as well and not directly OF them..

so OP you hold this and KNOW it is not a LOSS because it is still there........ that feeling...

Time, and what Kirata said so beautifully. You're in love with the person and the scenario that YOUR brain has conjured up based on the crap she fed you. She's not that person, that person doesn't exist, unfortunately. Just keep telling yourself that. Let time go by. Each day is one more day further away from her, and it will fizzle out eventually.

And, you are 18. There are THOOOOOUUUUUUUSANDS of other women just on this site alone, let alone on other sites, and, preferably, right in your own neighborhood. Start getting to know some of them.

(I do remember when I was 19 and got majorly dumped by my first big love. I thought it was the end of the world, and, 30+ years later, "our" song still gives me a little twinge, though I smile and sing right along now, lol. I do know what you feel right now.....every one of us here does.....it's hard, but it WILL get better. Guarandamteed

The love that has stirred in you is a meaningful and wonderful thing. Don't confuse it with her. It isn't her. It's you. And don't confuse it with the unfortunate circumstances, either. Those are other matters. Keep your love, and the girl that you love, in your heart. Just accept that this one wasn't her.
