I have been working really hard today getting things done. I was looking forward to a quiet evening with a nice alcoholic drink and a bubble bath. Unfortunately, I developed a headache after feeling weird all day. This headache isn't anything like my usual headaches and medications both over the counter and prescription have not touched. It is a weird pressure kind of headache and I am zoning in and out of my own body sort of. It's really bizzare. I still want my drink dammit! I don't drink often and was looking forward to what really is a fairly rare treat for me. Alas I am torn? Is it a good idea? I know, get thee to a doctor! I will do that...eventually.... Thanks!

LOL!!!! Sounds like a plan!

I'm just wondering if it's the right plan and if I will have a morning to call the doctor.

Frankly....(and I need to state upfront, with no equivocation....I'm not a doctor....I only play one on CM)....it doesn't sound like anything Crown Royal on rocks wouldn't solve.

Actually, joke all you want but .......

The human mind must be predisposed to get high in any way before it can happen. And then it can happen without the actual intoxicant.

What I am saying here is that an intoxicant only induces your brain to create a state of euphoria or whatever. I've seen people who couldn't drive home after two light beers, and others who drank a fifth every day and you could never tell, and they never got hauled in for DUI. Nothing. Nary a speeding ticket in decades.

So it is possible I think, to get high without any substance at all. Imagine that. Costs nothing, reaps nothing. Getting high at will and coming down at will without any help would be one hell of a valuable talent eh ? It doesn't screw up your job, family or money.

Some throughout history may have done it, but probably attributed it to a God of some sort and thought of it as a religious experience.

Your body is doing things you don't understand.  A headache is one symptom.

Then you say you've tried all kinds of meds to banish the headache.

I'd be very leery of alcohol under those circs.  At least verify that the other meds don't react with alcohol.

Anything unusual happen today?  Weather changes? Eat lots of sugar or carbs?  Eat a new food that you might have allergies to?  Major pressure at work or home?

I'm with Steven. There's nothing about this a drink is going to help.

Have you tried consuming vitamin c and plenty of fluids, are you dehydrated. My headaches are always shifted with between 1000mg of soluble vit c in water, upto a maximum of four times a day, but then my headaches are usually alcohol induced.

As point of clarification, I wasn't looking to relieve the headache with the drink. I was just looking to enjoy one at the end of the day. I was concerned that either through drug interactions or due to the condition itself (whatever that might be), I could cause myself problems by consuming alcohol. Yesterday was as very laid back day aside from cleaning my house. I didn't eat or drink anythin unusual. There have been no major environmental changes. The weather was cold and wet which was a change from the couple days prior, but we are back to normal today and this mess still lingers. No jaw clenching I am aware of and my blood pressure always runs slightly below normal, but is normal for me and is not elevated either for me or for a "normal" human being. I didn't consume in excessive carbs, etc. I didn't have the drink and now can't tonight. Looong story. Who knows? It is probably just another example of my body's wackiness.

Are you by any slight chance married to my ex wife?

(THAT will cause severe migraines).

Well, if it were me that felt ill, and I wanted a drink, I would get one, as the alcoholic induced relaxation I see as a benefit, and even a sleep aid when ill. I would see what the next day brings, if I still felt rough, and it was not the familiar alcohol induced symptoms, I would take it from there, as there is not much one can do at the end of the day anyway, may as well have a beer and relax.

Well, obviously you survived the night, which is a good thing. I assume the headache has passed. I know you have mentioned various health issues on here, so I would suggest mentioning the "weird" headache the next time you see your doctor, and if you get another one, perhaps consider either calling the doctor or taking a trip to the ER. "Wierd" headaches should not be ignored.
