I admit it that when announced that I was going to another dentist, both my mother and SIL admit that they are standing behind me on this one. They admit that 5 weeks tis too damned long to extract a molar and being in constant pain.

I admit that being in constant pain is turning me into a bear which is annoying. Where did mom hide the T4s?

I admit that drinking room temperature water hurts like hell. I want a shot of novacaine!

I admit that I had faster service when I was down in New Orleans. Just call the dentist and had an appt the next day was a godsent.

I admit that watching Georgie (our dog) rub himself (the head) on the carpet is funny.

Shahar, in all seriousness I understand you are fed up with the pain but if your tooth is pulled before the infection is gone you risk a blood...yes blood...infection. That puts you at risk for all sorts of complications such as organ damage because well blood travels everywhere and so will the infection.

No I'm not being alarmist I work in Healthcare and I do know what I'm talking about. Get stronger painkillers yes, but if you still have the infection, please wait to have your tooth pulled.

I know, I know. My mother just retire after 28 years of nursing so she would keep an eye on me. I have been taking antibiotics like they were candy. I got the funds right now for the extraction and a root canal is a lot more expensive than the extraction.

I have had blood infections before and if it gets to the point of hospitalization, I got Medicare to cover for me. My SIL has already set up the appt. with her dentist so all I have to do is to get the x-rays from my dentist and we will be in the free and clear. My blood work from the doctors' office is showing a good white blood cell count so I am not worried on that front. I got a feeling that the tooth may have to be broken before the extraction since my mouth is too small.I appreciate the worrying but I have not ate since Thursday and I am drinking room temperature water and it still hurts.

Okay, reading this I feel better.  I'll bet the tooth doesn't have to be broken, with the infection and all it will probably come right out...or at least that's what happened to me.  Good luck sweetie
