Hello, we live in horse country here in Florida and enjoy this aspect I am currently building a new cart for a new pony that may be coming to our place this summer. We have plenty of used tack and make most of our own stuff here.

when i am a pony the world shifts slighly it starts with a pet of my muzzle or a bit in my mouth i become a prey animal, hyper aware of sounds and danger my senses are hightened i sniff the wind and feeel as though i can smell a scent on the wind for miles i twitch a lot and i spook very easily i stop understanding english i have a giant head i tend to accidentally bash people with i snort, i brey, and whinny for comunicarion i enjoy smells i love blinders they keep me focused, i love saddles and harnesses they keep me grounded i eat grass like foods like salad and sprouts...and i love carrots and apples i feel my power in my legs and love to run.... i dont like standing upright, it feels wrong i like being on all fours but my lower legs get in the way, its best to tye them up. i wear knee pads to avoid damage, and i love my mane and body brushed i carry my self with poise and dignity in pony space i dont tollerate any one that does not understand ponys, i have very little patence because they dont realise it is not a game for me, and if they dont know animal husbandry i dont want to play with them....but they can pet me, and tell me i look pretty... i like being hosed and put to pasture but i like being brushed and hitched better, i know my place, hours can elapse, i can just chill i love being complimented and hand fed. i hate flies. pony space is so differnt then pup space, it is a wonderful thing to explore...you can learn a lot of great stuff my reading animal husbary books the best book imo is by Mony roberts it is the book the horse whisper is based on. Monty changed horse training forever because he was able to watch wild mustangs for weeks at a time, he watched how the lead mare communicated to the whole heard and was able to recreate those actions into a new style of Horse Psycology the old method took 3 weeks and was called "breaking" the horse because you often did such cruel things to break his spirit, the new way was gaining the horses trust and and a well skilled whisperer could "gentle" a wild horse in under 3 hours. it is absolute magic when a human pony comes in contact with a human pony whisperer.....

To me the transformation into my pony self is also helped by a great trainer and those are tough to find , sure i can put on the gear and get there on my own somewhat , But what really completes a great experience is that trainer who knows what She is doing .I am not the Mr Ed pony no talking , i have yet to see a horse speak other than on TV .Nor am i trigger the human equine who loves to be ridden .Instead i am more a dressage cart pony .Looking at my profile pic you get a lil idea of me in gear .When i first started pony activities my trainer would do nothing with me for 6 months til i watched and learned behaviors from real ponies and horses , how they act alone ,with humans ,with each other ,etc .I was watching what the trainers and care givers did to and with the ponies as well as the vets .One weekend equestrian show will show you a ton .There will be a Pony class at Thunder this summer , there is also ponyplaylv.com a weekend just for ponies and trainers . You can start out training and getting into pony with a crop and simple training bit and some reins . tigress i can so relate Smiles and i hate flies too, great descriptions .I also think people can relate more to pup and kitty play much better due to the numbers of people who own these as pets and interact with them , not everyone has or has been around horses . When i was first starting to work with horses a female trainer told me they are just like working with 3-4 year old kids , for the most part that s true .They can have tantrums ,be grumpy , be brats , be frisky and playful , and have a wide range of child like emotions . The gear is out there some better than others , and the gear is not cheap , full pony rigs and gear can run into the thousands .The trainer gear can be had through most tack stores riding pants , shirts boots etc with a mix of fetish wear "always a plus 4 me " . When buying your gear i have found it best for a personal fitting ,Yes there are adjustments and straps yet i have yet to find the one size fits all in style or fit .

WE like show ponys and Diane has had some of the most famous ponys and human horses spend time in her barn.You can't find those thats willing to put in the time to make the grade theses days..WE tamed 3 horses equines this past summer,saddle broke in one day and road wise within a week with out one buck from them,its in the hands and voice not in the whip.bounty

I wish we lived closer. I am sure milady would let you borrow the carriage I made for her. I wonder how close you are to my friend Niceguy1965. He just built a really nice, lightweight carriage. He is in Tampa.

I have been organising pony-play events here in the Uk and in mainland Europe since 1993. I recently set up a Yahoo! list-server to share info about European events, but it has proven to be very popular with Americans - and just about every other country too. There is also Equus Eroticus magazine over in your country, they have a website too, http://www.equuseroticus.com/ . The magazines feature most of the active people in the scene worldwide and many equipment suppliers too. There are a number of links to equipment suppliers and a pdf to download that gives some design guidelines on making yourvown sulky (2 wheels) or cart (4 wheels). My first sulky weighed 22 lb and that included the wheels and harness. Later ones are heavier, because although the original worked fine worked on flat grass, it could not take the pounding my sulkies get at my events in the woods, beaches and up in the hills, (at night by moonlight - too many walkers daytimes!)

Very poetic... I am a equestrian... and also a pony boy and girl lover. smiles I have studied natural horse-man-ship. I have a wonderful paint (Jazzy) whom I am training.. and would love to have a pony boy or girl again. It is very true that if you interact naturaly with horses, the bio or non and you tame them and love them for the wonderful creatures they are... they can not help but follow and love you back. I am looking to be active in any pony community that may exist in Tampa/St. Pete. To the Op the links they gave are good ones.
