And, Mutlling, no it was not "Pumpkinhead." 1970's! That came out too late and I don't think the plot is the same at all

No, but thanks for giving it a shot. Whatever it was, it was fairly obscure, not a big hit or anything. It might have even just been a regional release; the radio station I listened to at the time was good about trying to showcase bands from the Gulf Coast, like Plain and Fancy, and Van Wilks.

I want to say that the band name might have been something like Alley Cat....

I was stumbling around, trying to find my song, found a web page, dedicated to that station I listened to, way back then. Sent the guy an email, mainly thanking him for the tribute to KZOM, but I also slipped in a question about "hot rod"
