Oh com'on you guys.....we all should petition the CA gov. to enact a law...and find out how the Taliban will shovel out the base of CA, so as to attack the root cause of CA's underpinng. A law is what it needed, stopping CA for falling off into the Pacific. But first we need an investigation as to the environment impact of such a law.

If CA is sliding northward, it could just be the US finally attacking Canada, so no one will notice. Canada should declare war on the US for invading and violating it's borders by sliding CA northward. Seattle is the spearhead.

I guess I'm going to have to come up with a new cardboard sign soon.

"Will Dominate for earthquake training."

I'm licensed as a professional geologist.   ^_^

Wouldn't you know it. I'm leaving on a road trip through California tomorrow morning and so (naturally) that's the first bit of news I heard on the radio as I was waking up today - "Scientists are claiming that current tremors may be signaling that the big one is ready to hit."

Oh yeah - I'm still going. [sm=dancer.gif]

oh puhleeeze, I've been hearing that kinda bullkaka since I was a kid, and I'm pushing 44 and still haven't dropped into the Pacific!

Well, waddya know? Maybe the family there will have some rolling good times!  Though I do wish the article was a little more specific on the area, rather than just "central section'.... Good lord, that could be all the way from Gilroy to Santa Barbara or who knows where.

(I can joke about it - I was born in California and lived there many years. Been through some decent earthquakes in my time and I'm 43. I was 10 miles from the epicenter of the 1989 Loma Prieta quake......)   [:)]

Well it's not as if earthquakes and plate tectonics is an exact science yanno. When it comes to plate movements, geologists can only predict when an earthquake may happen..operative word is MAY. Hell I'm 48 and live in the center of the Canadian Shield, which is not prone to earthquake activity but low and behold: Jan 1, 2000 we had an earthquake at 6 am that registered 3.5.

One of the oldest pickup lines in the book... "Hey, baby, what's your sign?"... "Come here often?".... "I'm licensed as a professional geologist"...

But oddly enough, every time I use the "professional geologist" line, i wind up with the sexiest, most utterly fascinating women...
