Half the state of California is going to drop off into the ocean one of these days, and I bet when it does, everyone's going to act all shocked and amazed......lol

Level -> RE: Fault Rumbling (7/10/2009 4:11:12 PM)

I've had 2 or 3 sink-hole type thangs appear on my land the last couple of days; I'm gonna blame CA.

LadyPact -> RE: Fault Rumbling (7/10/2009 4:23:47 PM)

I guess I'm going to have to come up with a new cardboard sign soon.

"Will Dominate for earthquake training."

Wouldn't you know it. I'm leaving on a road trip through California tomorrow morning and so (naturally) that's the first bit of news I heard on the radio as I was waking up today - "Scientists are claiming that current tremors may be signaling that the big one is ready to hit."

Oh yeah - I'm still going. [sm=dancer.gif]

Come back safe and sound Sanity and have a great time

mefisto69 -> RE: Fault Rumbling (7/10/2009 5:06:10 PM)

time to buy some soon-to be ocean front property in Death Valley

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Fault Rumbling (7/10/2009 5:18:04 PM)

As much as I'd love to see the entire state fall off into the ocean, sadly, that won't happen.  The plate that California sits on will continue to slide north (at about an inch per year, I think) and eventually become a part of Alaska.  Just think: a certain soon-to-be-former governor could then run for election in the great state of California.  That's more mind-boggling than the whole concept of plate tectonics!  Of course by that time she'd be older than the dinosaurs that she claims walked with humans, but on the plus side she might have learned a few things by then :D

Just anticipate an IOUSD ("I Owe You Some Dirt") from the state instead of an actual truck (with dirt) to fill it.

I will, Lucy, but I'll be honest, if it doesn't cease and desist, promptly, I'm gonna get nervous.

My friend, from the government here, I would expect a FU, if that.

And yes, Sanity, have a good trip.

If you see sulfur and sand come up out of the ground, turn around. [:D]
