knees2you -> Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/8/2009 10:42:43 AM)

Hey everybody!
Hey just wondering how many people here do Facebook/Twitter, etc.

I think facebook grew more pople then anything else on the net. And did it faster.

What draws us to these sites?

Always, Ant~[sm=threadhijack.gif]

I am on Facebook.  I went on there way back when. . . when it was really done just by college students.  Now. . . mostly because I like those quiz things.

I have been on facebook for a relatively short time (well actually I made my page a loooong time ago and totally forgot about it until somebody added me as a friend, which gave me an email notification which reminded me of Facebook). Since then I have managed to reconnect with a whole bunch of old friends from as far back as grade school.

Christinestill -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/8/2009 12:53:42 PM)

i just joined facebook last night...it's interesting.  i've been warned not to start playing the games there as they are very addicting.

VirginPotty -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/8/2009 1:00:46 PM)

Friends from school are alot easier to find on FB than on Classmates.com!

I think the quizzes are addicting![:D]

CatdeMedici -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/8/2009 1:16:04 PM)

Facebook, its My vanilla side--its an easier way to keep up with friends enmasse and almost instant time.

I dont get this Twitter and I think when one is Twittering, they arent listening or paying attention to whatever it is that's going on.

DesFIP -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/8/2009 1:55:31 PM)

I'm not on facebook. Both my kids have warned me that if I join they're going to limit what I can see on their pages.

The college kid uses hers to keep up with friends all over the country. Mainly in the horse show world. She can see somebody at a show in Oklahoma, and then stay in contact when they're in college in Texas while she's here in NY. They know who is selling a horse, who needs a new one, who is going to which show. That's important for them because they enjoy a show more when they have friends there.

Am sure my son has me blocked from seeing half of his stuff.

To the Op

I use it mainly for family and friends, ok and to beat the world at scrabble. Tend to use the scrabble option to see if a potential Dom has a brain as well. This one hasnt beaten me yet, well not at scrabble lol

(our first date was purely for realtime scrabble, that was a few months ago and we've now progressed to cards and backgammon, and a few more interesting games)

littlewonder -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/8/2009 3:09:51 PM)

I only have a Facebook acct to check up on my kid from time to time and a Twitter acct from when she was on vacation and it was a way to keep track of where they were and what they were doing. My profiles on both sites are completely blank since I don't use them for anything else.

I'm not sure what attracts others to use them really. I've never really had any interest in them. I didn't even know what Twitter was until a few months ago since I never use that kind of stuff online.

KatyLied -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/8/2009 7:02:35 PM)

I recently joined Facebook, really enjoy it and have reconnected with some friends through it.
I don't use Twitter, but I have an account set up and I follow some things there, mainly sports.

susie -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/9/2009 1:00:00 AM)

I worked in the TV industry in the UK and almost everyone involved in media here uses Facebook and now Twitter. Since joining Facebook I have been in contact with a number of ex colleagues from Canada that I had lost touch with. I have also been contacted by 2 of my second cousins that I have never met which was nice as I am doing some work on my family tree.

housesub4you -> RE: Facebook/Twitter? Why? (7/9/2009 1:04:32 AM)

I joined facebook and found some old friends from school and then remembered why I never stayed in touch with them.  If I wanted to stay in touch with them I would have.

Now I just use FB to post videos of our children so the rest of the family can see them.
