That's pretty cool, Steel. I never knew the history of Johnny Cash's version, though I did know that Trent Reznor was never pissed off about it like the stupid 'rags' tried to imply. I have to admit a perverse affection for Trent Reznor, but I have to say that I love both versions in their own right. To me, this is an example of one of the two best ways to do a cover. One is to do it with absolute respect for the original, and the other is to draw from inside to create something that uses the original as a framework on which to build something completely exceptional in and of itself, that stands alone from the original piece.
