I post this here because this is directly relevant to both knife play and bondage. Obviously, to play with knives you need a knife. With bondage, I like to keep a knife on hand to cut my partner out if need be, as I suspect a lot of people do.

ACTION IS NEEDED ASAP BEFORE JUNE 21st

For the quick newsflash click HERE.

Please take action to stop this so that we can continue to enjoy knife play, safe bondage and for a wide variety of other reasons (utility, camping, backpacking, hunting, fishing, sailing, fire/ambulance/police/military, self-defense, martial arts etc ad infinitum).

Did you read any of the bill (it's 65 pages long)?  Which came out on May 6, 2009 (why all the uproar now?)

First of all, the Gerber knife's made by Fiskars Brands, Inc.  Start reading around page 18 through 32.  The rules changes are recommended due to new release technologies not addressed by the old definitions.  The newer assisted releases, requiring slmost no effeort, made the knife a switchblade.

It's not some mass government conspiracy to steal our knives.

No, it is a master plan to leave the Citizens of this country completely defenseless. This makes them dependent upon the goverment. Basically they want to look useful.

This point is not really up for debate, look around. Every time anyone invents anything that could be usecd as a weapon they want to make it illegal. They don't want us to have weapons because they are the people who said weapons should be used on. It doesn't get much plainer than that.

altho I don't exactly understand the comments made by the op of the "importance" of stopping these actions..

I have to admit I find it a bit odd, I could never understand how the state views switch blades as any more dangerous then, oh lets say a regular kitchen knife...

it seems much ado over nothing.

an "Assisted opening" knife is not the same thing as all pocket knives
I will say this again so that we are clear
an "Assisted opening" knife is not the same thing as all pocket knives
its a switchblade
do I think that banning them is stupid, pointless and wrong? YES however most states have had rules banning those kind of blades for years now, or making it so that only emergency personnell could keep them
not sure what the reasoning on this is supposed to be, but this really isnt news anymore.

Term, It cant be done.   It just cant.  Ever see those super max prisons?  That is what would be required.....  just about ANYTHING can become a weapon.    ....and of all people- YOU, would figure out HOW- to configure and execute as such.

(a compliment  :-) )

Jesus [or your favorite deity here] on a pogo stick.  FEMA camps are an urban legend, no matter if Glen Beck says so.

Glen Beck is a circus clown.   He is there to fill the seats- just like Jerry Springer.

Would you want 300,ooo desparate people converging on YOUR block?    I dont.

Open the camps.   (if it comes down to that)

Irishknight -> RE: Knife Play/Bondage - US To Ban Pocket/Folding Knives - NEED ACTION (6/16/2009 6:01:59 PM)

Since my swords don't open or close, I am currently not worried.  Also, most of my knives are old school as in medieval style.  I carry a pocket knife when working on the farm and when I'm in public.  Due to the blade length on it, its illegal in some areas anyway.  Of course, if I use it to kill an attacker, I have four more just like it (they were on sale).  It can disappear and I still have mine.
