Status: offline 		I'm sure you've all heard the notion that dog's wiggle their paws when they sleep because they're dreaming about chasing or being chased.

Do you believe it?

Status: offline 		There have been studies that indicate a number of animals, including dogs, cats, and elephants, do go through several of the same stages of sleep people do, including REM sleep which is when we dream.  While that isn't conclusive that they do dream it does strongly suggest it.  I personally think they do dream and it is likely that they dream about activities that are part of their normal lives.

Status: offline 		Oh, sure. I've even seen them talk in their sleep - woofing or growling, even whining. I have no doubt they're dreaming. I just wonder if they're dreaming in color...

Status: offline 		It is funny to watch dogs make movements and all sorts of noises, some of them even snore! If you wake them suddenly they will be startled, same as waking up a sleeping homid.

Status: offline 		The worst is when they are sleeping next to you and start "running" kicking you and barking.......all in their sleep.

Last night, no one got much sleep. One decided to become afraid of thunderstorms and it stormed alllllllllllllllllll night.

No, she just wouldn't settle down. Pacing, up and down on and off the bed, walking on my head, crawling under the covers then back out. Finally, at some point early this morning I seem to have put her in a huglock. Woke up (late of course) with her nose tucked under my chin and her body against my chest, under my arm.

Status: offline 		I love dogs...I have always had one by my side or in my heart..It takes no science degree or study to know dogs have exactly the same emotions, dreams, and desires as humans.

Status: offline 		My George (cocker spaniel) whines and growls when he is asleep, but does not make a sound when he's awake. He also passes gas while asleep and his bed is next to the computer...(ACK!!! Another passing!)

Status: offline 		I absolutely believe they're dreaming, probably about things they've already done, like running, chasing something, and I've even heard my dog making fearful sounds like she's dreaming she's being scolded about something, or maybe something's chasing her. 

I particularly love that surprised and confused look on her face if I wake her up in the middle.....like she can't quite figure out where she was and how she got here so quickly, lol.

Of course they dream.  My dog that sleeps in my bedroom does the feet, tail, bark, whine, the whole deal.  And oh yes, he snores.  Loudly.
I throw stuffed dog toys at him to get him to stop.

my cat went through her first Thunder storm recently, she just got really pissed and hid in the corner, viscously attacking what ever approached..
