At the risk of revealing I sometimes watch too much TV.... I was watching an episode of Law & Order:Criminal Intent earlier this evening in which a woman was raped. As it turned out, the attacker had found her ad on a fantasy rape website and insisted he was doing it because she asked him to. Only it was someone else who put her ad and photos up without her knowledge or consent. I remember a while back seeing an episode of The Closer in which the same thing happened.

Would anyone here do such a thing? From either side of the coin? Is there anyone who would put an ad up saying you wanted to be raped (and give your address so someone could do it)? Is there anyone who would answer such an ad from a person you've never met?

For myself, the answer would be "hell no". I am quite into resistance play (aka "rape play") with a partner I trust, but posting/ publishing such a request complete with address would be, in my opinion, a very stupid thing to do.

No. I would never place such an ad, and i do have rape fantasies. I am just very well aware that the rape fantasies i have are about having done to me what *i* want done to me. I have no interest in being raped by a man i find physically repulsive and/or who smells. I have no interest in being raped by a man who wants to punch my face or mutilate me or kill me. I have no interest in being gang raped or anally raped. The only way to be sure (as sure as possible) that my "rape" experience is a delicious one is for it to be enacted by someone who knows what gets me gooey and who i trust completely.

It has been my general observation (anecdotal, of course, since it isnt a topic discussed every day with a variety of people) that there is a certain kind of man who is willing to experiment with this and who will enjoy it, but the rape isn't his fantasy, so he has fun giving you what you want. Then, there's this other kind of man who has his own ideas or fantasies about rape, and that can get dangerous without a lot of honest communication before hand, as his ideas may not be ok with me at all. If he has strong ideas of his own, maybe it would be very difficult to refrain from living at least some of his own fantasy in the process.

Assholeness. At least it will be after a few hours in prison. There are some crimes inmates do not stand for. Having your wife raped while your littluns are home is likely on the list. Personally, I hope someone with a life sentence shows him what happened to Jeffrey Dahmer.

Rape fantasies are more common that society suggests. There are innumerable causes (my favorite attribution is the thought that the woman feels she has too much power, and imagines a system where she does not) for the fantasies.

That said, there is a huge difference between fantasy and rape. "Rough consensual sex with a stranger" is not rape. "Fucking a stranger" is not rape. Nothing pisses me off more than rape. It makes me see red.

I'm getting side tracked. My point is "I don't care how intense your fantasy is. Don't invite rape into your life." Satiate yourself with something equally risky, but consensual. Your psyche will thank you.

there is a big difference in rape/ role play fantasy then a criminal offense. i do not believe the lifestyle has a monopoly on this type of behaviors as the media would often suggest, for the sake of entertainment. i would hope that all would be cautious and proceed with good common sense especially when communicating through the net!

In that URL, it's amazing that prosecutors in North Carolina seem to want to go after Craig Buckmaster for simply making his advertising service available. Are they really that stupid in North Carolina (by attacking the innocuous medium instead of the person who commits the crime)?

I do not know about anyone from here, but I did read an article in the news the other day about a man who put an ad up on Craigslist to have his wife raped at knife point while he watched. It was NOT consensual and she was raped in their home while hubby watched and their two children were in another room. Hubby is now being held on several charges and authorities are seeking her attacker.

Does it happen? Yes. There have been other instances of people putting up these types of ads unknown to the victim.

I lived in NC for a dozen or so years... until I was old enough to escape. Standard disclaimers of "there are good, smart people too." The problem is, the idiots in the legislature... this is a state that tried to make .00 the legal limit for driving, and insisted it wouldn't affect bars and restaurants.

Yes I would and have done similar but then I'm into rough sex. However, I like to know a bit about the guy or guys and discuss concerns and limits first and no, I dont give out my address to strangers to 'come and get me'

ads are an excuse, do rapists really want to take responsibly for their behavior? being an adult is admitting your faults and dealing with them. 2 consenting adults, safe words and open communication. get help for it

This is the key and is the reason why the term "rape fantasy" is actually an oxymoron. The end goal in all fantasies is pleasure and there is no pleasure for the actual rape victim - only terror and shame, if not death. A collage professer of mine once said that "rape fantasy" would be more accurately termed as "throw me to the ground an ravish me every which way you beautiful hunk of manhood you," fantasy.

My fantasies revolve around Gorean type Master/slave fantasies and I have been asked how does that make me any different from any rapist. The legislature, police...okay pretty much all government employees save perhaps teachers in North Carolina are borderline brain dead. Were it not for the spirit of god almighty pumping whatever type of morality they need to be policing now into their brains, they would be unable to pass any law at all. I'm tired of being treated like a child who needs a moral nanny to watch over her. So lump me in with the people that are for taking personal responsibility instead of blaming some guy with a website. Charlotte is abuzz with rumors about the police department planning to do a sting and blah blah blah.
