My Master and I are in college and not only quite poor, but also do not have access to a car. Because of this, getting regular BDSM toys is extremely difficult, if not impossible. We both wish that we could have these toys however. Do any of you have any ideas for make shift toys that one would find around the house? Any ideas are appriciated!

VampiresLair -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 7:41:46 AM)

BDSM do it yourself isnt all that hard depending on the toys you are looking for.

Wooden spoons make great paddles, as to hair brushes. Clothespins or chip clips make good clamps. Handkerchiefs make great blindfolds and gags, dishtowels work for blindfolds too, but you might need to safetypin them to keep them on. Not as good as a gag because they are so bulky. Belts and rope are both good for bondage, neither of which are hard to find around the house. Dont forget the wonders of ice, and freezing salad tongs makes for some very fun sensation play.  And candles are pretty easy access... just be careful what kind you use for wax play.

What other toys are you hoping to find around the house?

GreedyTop -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 7:50:28 AM)

belts, clorhespins, do you have incense burner trays? those make good little stingy smackers. featherduster (or equivalent?). even whisk brooms can be great for sensation play.   Dollar store... loads of cheapy pervertables.  Be creative.. look through your stuff with a kinky eye (hey.. Bravo should do a show.. "Kinky Eye for the broke guy!")

Heathen4 -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 7:55:31 AM)

I had never thought of using clothespins or ice though... Very creative. I approve. Master likes it too, and is getting ready to do a dollar store run! Thanks

Kinky eye for the broke guy? That made my day.

No doubt other people have found this before but... a round (not flat) pastry brush. Stroking along the skin is soft. However, if you put it point on to the skin, and twirl slowly, each brush hair becomes a sharp point, and feels like cutting. Even better if the first time is blindfold so the one being brushed does not know what is being used. Enjoy!

a ping pong ball, with a few holes added and a secure tie makes a good gag

Rope of various kinds can be made into floggers.  Those skinny licorice candy things?  SUPER stingy, and then you can eat it!  Also makes good ties, oddly enough...  Rubber bands, dowel rods, leather shoelaces, of course DUCT TAPE and saran wrap...

It's a world of stuffs!!  Have fun experimenting, and let us know if you come up with something new and nifty! [:)]

Vertical  blind wand makes a nasty stingie thingie.  Don't forget your produce aisle...  fresh ginger for figging, peppers and Tabasco sauce on tender bits (milk is the countering agent, btw).   Remember the old "Fetch me a switch and don't make it a wimpy one"?  Look outside for interesting trees.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 8:34:30 AM)

I agree with the sara wrap and the rope. Alexis loved being wrapped quite often. Rope floggers are my weakness...[:D]

Ping Pong paddles too. They make great paddles and can be bought seperately.

GreedyTop -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 8:49:43 AM)

drill some holes in the paddles for less wind resistance...

clover clamps from the sewing dept

GreedyTop -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 9:03:30 AM)

sewing thread (heavy gauge) for nipple torture (not tied in a knot.. quick release)

KneelforAnne -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 9:13:20 AM)

I love this thread!

Go to the travel department at Wal-M or some similar place. All sorts of good stuff. Blindfolds, ear plugs, little locks with keys...

There was way more, but I forget...

I was amazed and sort of appalled at myself for seeing all that in one tiny department.

Oh, and bouns- at my Wal-M the travel department is right next to the candles!

A trip to the local hardware suppliers would furnish you with (if you're lucky):

- Pin-nosed pliers
- rope & chain, sometimes available by the meter
- padlocks
- a wooden broom handle with two O rings screwed in either end makes an excellent spreader bar. Actually, I found the whole handle too long to go between my girl's legs, so I chopped a foot off the end and hey presto, two for the price of one [:)]
- handcuffs can be found pretty much anywhere these days, dirt cheap - the fluffy ones come to mind (file down the safety release!!)
- Longterm bondage - freeze the keys in ice.
- I made my own collars to begin with - a thin, 1cm wide belt, cut to size, with extra added holes punched in it makes a fine-looking collar, and if you get a thin enough gauge padlock, is nicely lockable. I also made a nice matching leash from the offcut belt-end, a long chain keychain and a cable tie.
- Cable ties need their own mention LOL! Be sure to have some decent scissors handy, tho.
- A hacksaw - With one of these in your perv toybox, any stray piece of wood becomes a potential paddle.
- Thumb tacks - if you can manouever them into the fingers of a glove, they'd be great for sensation play
- old lengths of electrical wire, stripped and separated make a lovely sting
- Chopsticks and little rubber bands for nipple/tongue clamps
- I've seen tiny G-clamps that'd go well on nips,too.

There's so many more...

ShaharThorne -> RE: Make Shift Toys (6/3/2009 9:44:09 AM)

When the cat feather teaser lost the feather, I removed the elastic cord and used the plastic rod on Alexis when she was misbehaving. Left some interesting welts.

ADDED: The rods from blinds makes cool smackers as well.
