About 30. Itwas easy when I was young and in the miltary, my orders under one arm and a seabag over my shoulder held by the other.
Ah,...the good 'ol days!

i don't mind moving - packing is easy ...unpacking - well that will take me months to complete.

since birth until teen years, i was army brat so we moved whenever the government sent him to a new assignment.

i'll be moving later this month to a bigger and better apartment however this is only a temporary move. we (my pet, myself and my girls) will be moving closer to where his job is next year. so most of the stuff i have boxed now won't get unpacked until the final move.

I cannot count how many times I've moved.  Let's just say these are the states I've lived in (for more than 6 months)..some of which have several separate times of residence:

NE, NM, PA, MA, CA, MI, TN, GA, FL, TX, CT.

the short term places include:  WY, OR, WA, IA , AZ

12 times.. or is it 15?

Many years in the military taught me that if I own it, I have to carry it. I go thru the household inventory twice a year the same way I would if I were preparing to pack up and move. Very little is spared. Come time to actually pack, I'm pretty much there :)

I'm agreeing with Janiebelle..still easier to burn the house down and arrange for new stuff to be delivered to the new house.

I would say I hate moving, but it is exciting to start fresh in a new spot. I am currently moving and exhausted by it. First, chose a super nice place - that fell through. now, in the process of looking again.
( all of this fun while settling an estate. i don't trust my sibling( got reasons). Shame isn't it?)

O only wish I was able to move faarrtthher away from this stupid state.

( please feel sorry for me..lol)

whiteslavebitch -> RE: I hate moving! (6/1/2009 5:14:04 PM)

My father was military, and my ex-husband liked to wander. I'm not sure I can accurately count how many times I've moved. Probably >15 times. Only this last move to the east coast was my choice. I'm tired of moving.

I am moving back into my home, and I cannot wait to get settled back into the home.  At the same time, I despise moving.
My poor slave has been so busy, I am going to have to give him a week's vacation.
BTW, did I mention I hate moving?
How many times have you moved?  I have moved about five times in my fifty years.

Best Wishes,

I've never understood what's so difficult about moving.

You call the movers, they box everything up, you fly to New York City for 5 days, see a few Broadway shows, eat at some killer restaurants, the movers put everything in the cupboards and closets at the new place, hook up the cable, you go home, put the bedsheets and pillow cases on, voila....moved.

Seems easy to me.
