I've seen that too... and worse. I've seen them so focused on "I'll be safe so long as I go slow" that they go slow but with blinkers on, with people that are obviously not compatable just because they are also prepaired to go slow. Sure the guy maybe willing to go slow.... maybe because he can only sneek away from his WIFE once a month!!! They skip getting really basic things because "We're going slow so it is OK that I don't have his landline number or home address"... "We're going slow so it is OK that he doesn't want Me to mention him on My profile, it isn't because the others he is stringing along behind My back might notice".
I don't focus on going fast, I focus on finding compatability and going at whatever pace feels right given the compatability so-far discovered. Sure taking risks when those risks seem justified... and no, not all of those risks have paid off, but even where they haven't I've had some wonderful experiences, met some lovely girls, some of whom remained good friends for years afterward.
