My oldest Um caught it last year. As others have already mentioned, the sooner the treatment the better. Our GP ordered the test the moment she saw the swollen joints (mostly the knees) and heard about the fatigue and light fever. He was treated with antibiotics for six weeks, had to rest lots, and was warned against strenuous activities. After the course of antibiotics there were no further problems, and his tests came up clear. I would advise you to do what you can to help your body through the long stretch of antibiotics, they take their toll, but the blow can be softened. Precautions against yeast infections, eating probiotics, a healthy diet, rest, keeping hydrated, all of those will make it a bit easier, but basically, there is nothing to be done other than getting on with it till the last pill is swallowed. I hope you will be feeling better soon.
