I can't find a link yet, but just heard it on the news.

I've just swtched over to Sky News to see if there was anything about it. It's true sadly-it was in the "show biz" section. This is really sad, I really liked his style of comedy, I think he was one of the great personalities of our time.

Quite a good number that have left us, Dom, Carlin, John Candy, Bea, Gilda, Pryor, Phil Hartman, just to name a few, had that certain something.  A lot of comedians I don't really care for because they TRY to be funny.  But Dom was in that rare breed that just WAS funny.  What you saw was what you got.  A real person, that just happened to be funny naturally.

Sadly, their numbers are dwindling and few are left.  Wilder, Brooks (who hasn't been doing well for a while, but the old S.O.B. keeps hangin' on), Williams... not many come to mind.

I remember when John Candy passed away, I was really shocked. I couldn't watch his films for a few months after that! lol-I think he had a real gift and its bad that he's not around any more.

I will surely miss his uncontrollable giggling, it was most contagious.

Sadly, I think that we are seeing the true greats leave us.  Very few today have the talent and the heart of the ones we have recently lost.  Bea Arthur, Dom DeLuise.  They had a natural comedic timing that one is born with.  Those of us old enough to remember these great performers should feel obligated to make sure future generations see what a true star was.

In fact, I don't even remember the guy's name because I called him Dom.

I'm guessing that's probably the only time you ever called a man that!

Anyway, sad news. I wasn't a big fan, but I always did have a tremendous respect for his talent. There are a lot of funny people in show business, but i don't know if I've ever seen anyone to whom it came so easily and so naturally. Maybe Robin Williams, but that's about the only other one I can think of at the moment. So long, Dom, and thanks for making the world a more enjoyable place to live in.
