I am curious, If I do not want to show my face because of privacy issues, and I feel I have an attractive rear end. Is it okay to display my ass as a profile image? or is this a no-no?

I wouldn't call it a no-no, but understand that, no matter how attractive your butt might be, you'd get tenfold the response for your face.

Well... a nice butt is a nice butt, but there ought to be something else about yourself that would attract me because just a butt tends to make me think only of the sexual presentation. BUT... if you are going to show your butt... take the shorts off!

As for responding to people... I will respond much faster to someone not showing their butt.

Why is that so funny to ask? I'm asking because some women say that a picture of an ass is a bad profile pic and some women seem to like it. I just wanted to get some feedback.

Generally, and this may be sexist of me, and I don't really care, but I find men's buns, however chizzled and sculpted, categorically unsexy. It's not where it's at (for me). Soooo... a pic of a man's bottom, however artistically taken (and let's face it - most of the time, the photographs are decidedly amateurish: see the OP's), tends to make me laugh more than anything (sometimes, it just makes me gag). Perhaps it's a cultural thing

I completely agree! I find men's asses, without exception, totally unsexy. I don't think it's a cultural thing per se since I am American and therefore have no culture. More of a gender thing. Just now, for example, I perved your profile in the hopes of seeing your bottom. Had to settle for the denim-shorts-clad image which was still pretty tasty.

that's a good idea, maybe i will draw a face on it. I guess I'm just not sure what I should I take a picture off since I don't want to show my face. Since everybody here seems to be against the butt pic, maybe just the back? Maybe the chest, the back of the head, or maybe just a distant shot where you can't see my face? what do you think?

There are many things you can do even with just a cam. You can put yourself in shaddow or with a tipped hat... you just want to be a bit different and yet saying something about yourself if you can. Don't focus on the sexual... but maybe entice us a bit to get to know you. We see cocks, butts and chest's all day long. Give us something to remember you by without thinking... oh god... another one looking for a mistress play toy to service his kink.

Get a friend to take a picture of you under a tree. Your body shape will show but your face will not. Or a picture from the back in some nice nature scene. But put clothes on. Be seen playing with your dog, standing next to your car, don't do a naked sex pic. That's always a turn off. Something vanilla is better and can be an opening topic of discussion.

I advise having a normal type of photo that shows your face for the profile and include the bum shots for the additional coverage.
