EMT, wanna be day trader,

Switch,

Currently the D in a 24/7 D/s

Most, but by no means all jobs have some sort of boss.

In many fields, the "customer" is in a subbish position.

Like medicine, emergency or otherwise. Car dealers wish they could hard sell like we do. "you need to let me treat you, or you will DIE"

Bail bondsmen, day traders, cops, and such.... not really "serving" their customers, or only doing so in the way a dom serves a sub.

With respect, marie2, artist.

The creative path is an inward exploration of self that incidentally & occasionally conjures end-product useful to others . . . . . & plenty of artists of all kinds have shown up-to-&-including complete disregard for 'their audiences', lol . . . . ..

OP:

I'm an artist, mostly in text but I dabble in lots of things; & I'm a 'naturally dominant human being' who is otherwise somewhat fluid . . . .. .

Lawyer, criminal law.

Submissive.

DemonKia -> RE: Profession vs Preference (5/4/2009 7:27:28 PM)

With due respect, Padriag, politicians are not only beholden to some degree to the voters, but more importantly, they're dependent on donors, hehehehe . ... . . That's one particular profession where cash truly is king, & deep pockets are essential to really play . .... .

As an artist I have enormous freedom, by comparison, to do whatever I want.

OP, I think you're just curious what we do. Otherwise you would have set up a poll, or somesuch, so that you would end up with a pile of data to analyze. This will all just be an anecdotal evidence.

If I told ya what I do, I'd hafta kill ya.

Edited for spelling

Ok, but we're talking "professions", whether it's some kind of art, or cleaning bathrooms.  Tattoo artist, someone who paints murals, someone who sells oil paintings, someone who does customizing drawings or painting, cartoonist, graphic art, and on and on and on.... If you're getting paid for your art (art as a profession), you're serving someone....the customer, the boss, whoever.  And they better like your stuff or you won't be drawing a paycheck from it.

I was wondering, have you taken a course in research ? What are your methods, variables, constants ~~~ you know, the stuff research is made of or are you "polling"for you own amusement.

My thoughts entirely. i had research methods which i did in the statististics department as part of my Bachelors Degree. Very rigorous.
So my immediate response is that this is an opportunistic sample here and way too many intervening variables to make infer any significance from the data.
ps Collared slave. Infer away.

darklight17 -> RE: Profession vs Preference (5/11/2009 12:26:12 AM)

I'm confused.

A sub.

I'll say this about my career though- after being in charge of absolutely every minute detail of what I do, it's nice to not be the Nazi in a relationship.
