http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQABh2FXKfQ go to 7.40. A federal reserve dude wrote a paper of putting an RFID into currency; to note the denomination. Then as time goes on- the amount - diminishes to discourage "hoarding".

LOL. A bit later she talks about how one can be tracked with just 4 RFID readers.

Unfortunately, I don't have sound on this computer, so I'm going to have to take your word.

I am really pissed off at the ramifications. The government likes to see money spent... they get taxes on each transaction, and it helps form a bit of a bubble. This of course is good short term but bad long term because Americans have no savings.

If I choose to park my money in cash, it says something about my faith in investments which, by the way, my government is afraid to back in gold or silver. The government needs to spend its efforts in shoring up confidence, not in punishing those who've lost it.

I am not turning the sound on for this Hunk. I heard about it years ago.

Belief or disbelief at this point is a big question, it depends on one's faith, or lack thereof, in human nature. You have to believe that there is a segment of the population with a totally different thought process, so different in fact that it becomes difficult to discern their ultimate goals.

Did someone say this ? Sure I believe that. Will it ever happen ? I think it is about as likely as them taxing emails because it is costing the postal service money. Sure someone said it, but that does not mean it will happen anytime soon. Also legality must be considered. No matter how fake, and how plastic our fiat currency is, a twenty dollar bill should stay a twenty dollar bill. In other words, I don't think such a measure would pass muster even with our fucked up government. That in part due to the fact that some of them do hoard cash. The smart ones probably use foreign currency though, although you can see why some
US currency would be needed. Just like the email rumor, you see, THEY also send and recieve emails, so it is not likely to happen.

The series- of 6 vids- did say a few things I did not know. But now- consider gift cards. Most deduct a fee each month. Use a debit or credit card? A fee= and the fee is on both ends.

Razzle dazzle smoke and mirrors. Technology is speeding up and becoming cheaper. What seemed un-doable even 5 years ago-seems doable today.

In the future- IMO all money will be digital.   No currency. This way the govt can track and tax... and even block certain transactions.

"they" are experts at extracting every possibly penny out of us.

In the 80s, CDs were savings- rainy day money. Not visa cards.   Early on NO ONE wanted automatic deduction from the account for bills. But the public bit by bit gives in.   Some places now want to charge- for getting a paper bill. $6.95, and for not having auto deduct.   Join the YMCA. It MUST be auto deduct. Unless you pay the entire year in cash.

I prefer a paper bill because I might not see it. (seriously)

Can you imagine if property tax and sales tax and income tax and gas tax, and utility tax was not taken right away?

The wash machine that came. Didnt they wreck my hose for the garden hook up!   Of course a person did not call me to set up delivery=- a computer did. ....so a computer might have delivered it too. But no. 2 Mexicans delivered it. The salesman in the store he-and hawed to tell me a price.   THE PRICE.   If it was $424, and I brought in the check written by the grant office, then noooooooooo. The point is- it is hard to get a concise answer to how much it cost.   (the lower price means now I have to wait 6 weeks for a rebate)

Rebates- another stupic trick we the public fell for.

Interesting that people dont use the sound portion of the computer. I often have mine off. On this laptop it is harder to mute. If you ever read the military report on threat assessment 2025, teck is becoming a boogieman.

In Eugentics where they want to kill off the population to 500 million people, the machines will make labor - as in servants- un-necessary. One dude on revelations radio- says that when they turn on the machines to kill people- they will be unable to turn off the machine. This might sound far fetched- but right now we send unmanned drones into Iraq, etc- to kill. ..also the teck we the public are allowed to know about isnt the final word in what is possible. The good stuff is only for the elite.....CIA.

We already have a mechanism for this: inflation.

Givernments seem to be wanting to keep that low though. Curiosa and curiosa

Rae, that is very true, and was actually given as a warning by the founding Fathers of this country, to NOT have a credit based economy. Apparently this had happened before.

SBFY, if you can find ANYWHERE I can download that movie that would be great. I do not want a link to youtube, I want it in full definition to play fullscreen and save to disk. That piece was about a "Z" movie, but it was very telling. Remember the end ? They were going to start up production again on the Mark 13 ! This is so like the assholes in power today it's not funny. But then I also have a soft spot for a Woman who knows how to weld. I think I have it on tape somewhere. However just so you know :

Of course that means a trip to the attic, and ripping those is in real time, there is no X speed. It is all 1 X. But y'all are going to see some rare and exclusive stuff. It will take some time though. I could order the hard and software, but then there is a trip to the attic. Just to give you an idea what that's like, I still have the original box from my Betamax.

You are correct about the warnings of our founding fathers and a whole lot more people than that. But that just covers the banking, currency and debt area.

As for the OP...there will be RFID chips everywhere eventually and it only takes one for ID, like soc. sec. numbers desired, addresses and enough private digital information to begin to track us by our work, bills and other spending.

I understand there exist plans to add to their presence in our passports NOW, but soon in all govt. checks and then under the skin in newborns which has already begun...'for security' purposes. You believe that ? I do. THEIR security...govt. security, tracking you. Soon maybe 20-40 years, you will not have a life without an RFID chip as your friend...somewhere, sometime.

I haven't read all of the posts, so if this has been mentioned.....

As of now there are detectors that trace the mylar strips in various denominations of our money at various entry and exit points of the country. Little computers calculate the total dollar amount a person is carrying. Supposedly this is to help combat large sums of cash from leaving the country, who knows...

The way many folks have been getting around this is by transporting the money via debit card or prepaid cards, sure there is a small fee associated with the transaction, but hell you are already out of US jurisdiction by the time you unload the account.

I don't doubt that there may be talk or even testing of the types of devices and their applications when it comes to currency. The real question is what would it take for the populace to embrace such things being implemented.

Term I don't hardly download anything, my computer is too slow and I have the cheapest, slowest cable package avaliable. So it's not worth doing it for me. I googled it and some torrents came up here and there. I looked around for a copy for sale earlier, but I couldn't find one. I had completely forgot about that movie until you mentioned it, and I am a huge sci-fi and horror B-movie buff. I'll have to start keeping an eye out for it.

Yeah, I remember the end scene. I thought it was a well done movie for what it was. IMDB says it was only done for $1.5 million in 1990. Even in 1990, that was still peanuts. The soundtrack for it was awesome; I actually saw a CD of it on Amazon.

The people will be scared into willingly accept such things as I wrote as there is an RFID chip in all recently new passports. Soon, they will be everywhere. Parents are already requesting the insertion of RFID chips into their babies.

They are acumm'n. First to track our habits via all of our finances and then to track us and then...everything about us. Afterwhich, the 'people' will have no life...without one.

Hiya Panda,

I remember reading a couple of articles in 2600 Magazine and a couple of other off the beaten track tech mags a few years back (namely soon after they put the strips in the $20s). Many of the fringe types thought that the strips were RFID strips, back then. They ran all kinds of testing, everything from various magnets to microwaves (note that some of the black ink is magnetic, and will burn if placed in a nuker). Then somebody came across some documents from a company called Triumf (think that is how it was spelled) in Vancouver BC, that was developing a detector. It basicly pulsed gamma rays in a focused ban and only reported the mylar strips (which also contain alluminum ink for the denominations printed on them). The units are about the same size as your typical airport metal detector, and were supposed to be coming down in size (as most electronics eventually do).

I will see if I can scrounge up the actual articles and post them someplace, or in the alternative I will try to find somebody that already has them posted around the digital domain we calls the internet.
