"Deaf," "I'm taking take of my grandma in __________," "I've been training with Master X and now he's looking to place me," and "My previous Master died" are also common scams. They always have short or no profiles, are looking for every category of person, have handles that fit a small set of patterns (twonames, name plus number), and photos that do the same (a single picture, usually in front of a plant, passenger set of a car, in "soft focus," or a smiling bust shot--not uncommonly conflicting with the stated ethnic background). Some even put the yahoo right in the profile. They never view profiles before sending messages. What's unfortunate is that these folks have come to significantly outnumber the genuine profiles, to the point where most of the profiles are scammers. Collarme obviously doesn't police this, so it's just going to continue. I'm wondering if people actually fall for this. Since the scammers keep coming back, they must be gathering enough email addresses to make it worthwhile. But then, they have no cost but time.
