Idiocy aside, these people have a corrosive effect on all of us, either through causing anger or reinforcing ignorance.
Respect to those Canadians that have fallen and those who continue to represent their country so nobly in an unpopular conflict.

It was fun:) heheh.
We had been talking about going for a drive and  when we saw all the cars, trucks, fire engines and assorted other emergency cars we asked what was going on and stopped to take part. It was the closest we would get to paying our respects to the four guys who were being driven from Trenton AFB to Toronto for their repatriation and burials. It was a somber time, one of the busiest  highways in North America being  used as a way to say goodbye and thanks, at least mentally was something that affected me deeply.
To come home and listen to the crap they spewed  did a real number on me, and I dont get upset easily by ignorance disguised as comedy. You consider the source, feel pity for their small lives and move on.  I couldnt quite do it last night.
After a stiffy, merlot and a foot massage things got back to normal:)
So thankyou ladies for the advice, it worked.
Im still pissed off, but meh, it will pass.

I thought the point was that we don't want to laugh at Canada?  Seeing as their soldiers are sacraficing so much to help their neighhbour nation the USA.

A problem is that the statement was so atrocious that we will listen to FOX to see what they come up with next.  That will increase Fox's ratings and we will be doing the opposite of what we feel should be done to FOX.  If we could just hurt them where it has an effect.

Personally I don't see why we Canadians give a rat's ass about what some American thinks, we know the facts. When counted a s a proprotion of population, we have roughly an equivelent force there, and our forces have suffered the highest casualties expressed as a proportion of troops in theatre. I personally don't think we should be there, but our treaty obligations were clear and we fulfilled them. If the Americans want to belittle our effort, then let them, their ignorance cannot change the facts. One thing the Americans should keep in mind...Canada has never lost a war, unlike them.

Never underestimate a GOP owned and operated network to practice some of the worst "journalisim" on the face of the planet. These are our allies, and the creeps at FOX belittled their contribution. Their apology was minimalist, and to say the least, insincere.

The show should be immediately cancelled, and those who made the joke banned from working in broadcast television and radio for the duration of the conflict. If no action is taken, the the FCC should fine the sponsors of the show, the money from which should be earmakred to the the surviving families of those who died in that action.

Its Inuit, Intuits tend to know things are coming.
We've never started one, but weve been there for the ones that we believed in.
But lets not get into a pissing contest. These are men who died for their country.
I explained why it upset me, it had been an emotional afternoon and i dont believe that taking the piss out of  Canadian efforts in Afghanistan is hysterical, I would say the same if it was a Brit, American or any other ally.
Arpig, I agree with you, but at the time yes it got to me. I havent lost my sense of humour< I merely mislaid it.
