Howdy, If ya'll had to put a word to single most important trait or ability a Dominant should have what would it be and why. for myself i think the most important trait is patience. what does everyone else thing?

i see i forgot to explain my choice of words. i chose patience becouse no one can be expected to be perfect first time or even 50th time at everything in life and you have patience with yourself and those around you

Integrity - Which was actually my Second choice subangi said my first. Responsibility and Integrity I think are the most important values or traits a Dominant could ever have all the rest is preference. Steel

I can't pin point one thing because although sincerity, self control and a good sense of humor, none of those mean anything much without the ability to get in my head and fill my mind with wanton desire.

Steel But resposibility and integrity could also be considered preference. i know that there are irresponsible and lacking intergrity people out there and people who seem to find that kind of shall i say more bad boy type of person to be highly attractive becouse of the fact they lack those.

IMNSHO, people must be responsible for themselves, including submissives. Accountability for your own actions is paramount. It is what makes grown people adults. There are many fine qualities that make up a dominant's personality. I find responsibility to be one of them, not foremost. I believe them all to be of equal value. garbar6 said it best. I'm going to vote for control. The things that happen in a scene make hormones run high and that can be dangerous if the domme lets it get to her. For example, I love to flog. It makes me feel empowered when something (in the vanilla world) has made me feel powerless. It's a great way to work out anger, stress, frustration. But I can't let these emotions make me lose control of myself because then I might hurt someone (in a not good way). I have to be able to ride the wave emotionally while reigning myself in physically for the sake of my sub.
