So many good traits have already been named....i'm not sure i could pick the one most important though....

It's like baking a cake...it takes all the ingredients to make it what it should be..... leave something out, and it might still be edible, but it's just not quite right.....

i second all these opinions as good advice. Most of all, i'd add that the most essential trait for a dominant is the ability to stay connected on a deep level with Her submissive, and vice versa. When they stay connected, both can ride the wave, while keeping safe within the feedback loops of ecstasy, without having to drop out and be self-conscious.

Thank you.  There is no one trait.  It's the combination and balance of several traits that lead to a success.  Many positive attributes have been mentioned, but many rely one upon the other.  No trait of a Dominant, submissive, or any other person stands alone.  We are not one dimensional characters.  We are people who encompass many traits.

For the remark to your query, I answer balance, because no trait stands alone.

The question is are you makeing a Pound Cake, Angel Food, or Red Velvet Because all of them have different ingredients but you can't make a one of them without Flour!

You also can't make one without sugar, vanilla, baking powder, or a lot of other things.

Flour alone is not a cake.  It's flour.  You can make all kinds of things if it's combined with other things.  If nothing else is added, it's still just flour.

Take a look at the recipe of your own life.  Are you really just one ingredient?

pinkwind -> RE: Dominant traits? (3/3/2009 6:48:39 PM)

The ability to hold my attention, no matter what. All else falls by the wayside if i am not paying attention!

But i am another one who likes the cake analogy, no one trait maketh a Dominant!
