I've never collected anything. Is that weird? I have the normal flotsam and jetsam of 43 years on the earth but I never intentionally gathered stuff.

I am a serious rock gatherer. They are scattered all about the house and gardens.

Vintage crystals are the older styles and cuts of crystals that weren't popular for a long time and are suddenly back in style. Just as mine cuts are now becoming popular again in diamonds. The newer styles and cuts have larger tables and many more facets that allow more refracted light and color which shows much more clarity.

Oh, OK. That makes sense. I should probably get a few crystals to enhance the light that comes from the candles I burn most every night (along with a stick or two of incense).

You should the colors are incredible. I'm not a fan of incense. Try aromatherapy rings or diffusers. Much more subtle and mood altering and you don't even need drugs

I thought the sport of kings was thoroughbred horseracing. Shows what I know.

Used to collect Victorian cookbooks and household manuals. I've got books that have a dozen different ways to fold napkins. You know, so you can't tell there's a roll hiding in the bottom and when people shake it out, ta do, bread goes flying.

A small pleasure that, seeing their consternation.

This once long-time collector is now a minimalist. My ex hubby and I had a handsome collection of books, some of which were first editions, scripts and original film posters. When we decided we could no longer move around comfortably in our home due to the clutter we reluctantly packed them all neatly in tea chests - the large wooden kind, and then stored them in our garden shed, which has a concrete flooring and solid door. Several weeks after storing them in there we needed a book only to discover that mice had gotten into the shed somehow and shredded every single leaf of paper, every script, every poster into bedding from each and every tea chest... not a book remained, just the covers. Almost 50 years of collection between us reduced to rodent bedding. I have expensive jewellery which has been purchased or passed down to me as heirlooms, and the only other thing that we really do collect is our pervertibles/furniture. We have a couple of philatelists in the family, which I find quite interesting.
