There's at least 34 people who can testify that how I am online is how I am in real life!

LMAO I was thinkin the same thing when I read the OP Bear - ask anyone who was at the Wedding, and we're all very much in real life exactly like we are online!

*snort*

face it Rhi....we are each other's evil twins! Sure would've loved to known what that waiter at the restaurant was thinking when we went to dinner! And it was your fault I dripped on the table.

fluffypet61 -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 2:34:04 PM)

What's offline?  This is my whole life.

Well, except for me.  I'm much more beautiful & intelligent & sexy & hawt in real life.  And more sarcastic too.  [8D]

YourhandMyAss -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 3:03:08 PM)

Nope I am exactly like I am offline as I am online. There's no "different me's" for different situations.

i was pondering that being online is a little like being drunk... it's at least true of me. offline i am quiet and shy with people i don't know. online i am bold with my opinions, something very unlike me in real life. and online i'm affectionate to friends i've known only a short while. offline i can only show affection with people i'm very close to. my pain killers kinda have this effect too...

any one else noted the similarities to being online and being drunk? or any differences between you online verses offline?

edited cuz it's early

Indeed, Red says your picture doesn't do you justice.

The most striking difference is that I'm in jail and have been for around 5 years, which I suppose isn't easy to spot in cyber land. Crucially, though, I remain 'superior' at al times (for any women out there with a fetish for writing letters to convicts).

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 3:11:06 PM)

I'm the same online or off.

GimpinDenial -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 3:16:31 PM)

Since it is no longer in my profile (which I have yet to redo)

I am nothing like I am online.

In the really real world, I don't goof around or make jokes and I don't talk very often (most people think I am mute) but when I do, I am serious in every word and action, and expect to be taken as such.

Online, as The Gimp, I am a goof that shouldn't be taken seriously mainly because I shoot my  mouth off frequently
Troll, attention whore.....idiot, call me what you want for the persona is intended not to be taken seriously....

leakylee -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 3:16:37 PM)

well i am pretty much the same outspoken people person offline as i am off. hey, some people can testify to this. shoot ask my family they will tell ya. that is why i get sent outside so much on the weekends. i like to talk..hehe..

piratecommander -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 4:13:11 PM)

I can obviously vouch for Greedy and she is how she comes across here (except ruder and cheekier [;)])

Of others I've met that posted here already Rhi is as above (including the ruder and cheekier)

Bear is how he comes across too (except much more fun when you're around him in real life)

Me :
Offline / online , same person , just that you have to miss out on my devilish evil laugh online

Pirate

(Now considering getting drunk as well as being online just to see if anyone spots that my response time is slower [sm=evil.gif])

purepleasure -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 4:23:25 PM)

I too am pretty much the same whether online or meeting IRL.  wysiwyg

pissthirstysub -> RE: online you vs offline you (2/17/2009 4:29:12 PM)

Very shy either way, I think I prefer to observe people.

Then drink their piss.

Same person.  Different filters on what surfaces.  In some ways, I'm more reserved online than I would be with friends who know when I'm kidding.   I have a very twisted and violent sense of humor that some folks just don't get.  (I think that is funny too, sometimes.)

While I'm certainly more blunt from the start online, I'm also more inclined to try and keep reason in the middle of the table when the discussion gets heated.  Believe it or not, this is me being patient and kind.  Plenty of comments I've engaged on in the forums would have caused me to just get up and walk away in daily life.  "Ok.  You're an idiot.  Buh-bye."
