No. and the only way someone can get your password is if you log into a spoofer site and fill in user name and password. IP can be found by / in midst of a file transfer though with netstat..easy. What to do with that IP? any of numerous things, name etc no, pinging or possibly logging you out, yes. Opening ports, possibe. Finding out someone you are chatting to is lying about what city/state/country they are in...priceless. If you send pics on yahell messenger, do so using photo share option only. Other than that, you are fairly safe lol. Wanna yahoo? quote:
before my last computer died from a hacker btw, toying with or befriending such net junkees is a bad idea. Sure it is fairly easy to spoof IP's, hell I could send you emails that look like they arrive from Germany one minute, Albany, Ny the next. But why would I want to? That type is aweful creepy. Anyhoo, hope you are now aware of when your ports are open and vulnerable. Pst. Anti-Virus proggies still let em in to read you info because obviously you set preferences to allow yahoo traffic. grr second editing: general note: if you are suspicious or untrustworthy of anyone in any instant messaging service, try to your internet cable (if you have it) provider's list of phone access numbers to log on instead of direct cable ISP. These usually come free with your service for when you travel (can use them country-wide). Go to your server homepage to get list of numbers. This means of ISP server does not allow any (info) traffic beyond what is necessary.
