QuixoticErrant -> Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 4:43:13 PM)

I just wrote this as a journal entry.  I would love the advice of others for early warning signs of crazy.

"Oh the things you learn when wading into this place...I had the briefest correspondence with a person listed here as a submissive.  She asked me some questions that I took the time to answer politely and in good detail.  At that time, several days ago, I was interested in finding out more about her - as much as is reasonable to be interested, since let's face it, this is the web, for all I know "she" is a "he," and I really have no details about her at all.

She wrote back to me rather rudely, she clearly thought she was being sassy, but rather was simply obnoxious. I got a very bad feeling about her at that point - like "this one is really crazy."  I said "I am not interested."  Then she wrote me again that I was not a "real dom."

Then she wrote something apologetic.  Then she wrote that we should meet about five minutes later.

I should have blocked her at that point.  Lesson learned.  Without telling me anything about herself at all, she began to demand we meet somewhere.  Given the apologetic mail, I told her I would consider it if she told me something about herself and sent me a photo.   I even wrote in that mail I would probably regret giving her the chance.  She became completely evasive.   In mail after mail, she demanded we meet but would not tell me the simplest things about herself.

She would not IM - some lame excuse.  She would not send a photo, but demanded we met. At first I thought this was some game, but my vibe of crazy crazy kept growing.   She became progressively more annoying.   Crazy crazy crazy.  I blocked her.

I thought it was done with.  Apparently, she has friends who are now writing me.  Apparently, she is one of those ones who has all manner of issues.  Just as a warning, since I'm not going to post personal stuff of hers, if you meet one of these ones, you should avoid her completely and block her from the start.Like I said, even if I am not new to the lifestyle, I am new to the site.  I learned something here.  Well this is what you get for being on the web.  Happy hunting to all of you good people out there.  Be good to each other - except when we are being bad. "

So, any comments on how to avoid people like this, and moreover, her friends writing me are now telling me that she is writing some nasty things about me to others I have not met.

You kinda sound a little crazy too.

FullCircle -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:00:58 PM)

Crazy people are quite scary looking. I met a crazy person on the train once he was kind of shouting at the person opposite him and that is how I identified him as crazy.

SteelofUtah -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:01:38 PM)

Advice: Bottom left hand corner of Screen is a Start Button Put the Mouse Arrow over it and click in the bottom left of the screen that comes up is a button that says Turn Computer Off Click that Then in the middle of your screen comes another screen that gives you three choices choose the Middle one.

**Note: Advice is for XP Users and Equivelant only**

Then go out into the real world and Guess what...... There are JUST as many there.

Dust yourself off and move on. Get over it cause otherwise all you are is a whiny loser wanting to know why the world doesn't unfold itself for you.

That was my thought too.
I cant say anything about the submissive, but you responded in a crazy way as well. I would suggest you do some thinking on your own actions verses posting what another did to you.

DarkSteven -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:04:08 PM)

You spent time corresponding with her, then made a journal entry about her, and finally made a post here about her.

Why aren't you focusing on other people?

SteelofUtah -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:05:02 PM)

Yeah I agree can we all question you to find out what the mind of a crazy person is like?

hey thanks... I get it.

QuixoticErrant -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:06:27 PM)

I did put up the big red flag.  The apologetic mail was written just well enough to cause me to pause about just discounting her.

QuixoticErrant -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:09:02 PM)

I'm mostly writing about a foolish learning experience on my part.  Perhaps I am pissed off at some of the silly mails I have been getting, but, I hope very much that I am not crazy.

MyWorldCT -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:10:12 PM)

OK, so I guess we have the resident psychologist has chimed-in.

Anyways, the internet, web, interweb, and craigslist are full of all types.  It is no surprise that this happened.  Have you noticed what CM has written in their main pages regarding... do not give out personal information, etc.??  This is exactly why.

If the person on the other keyboard is not willing to go your speed, then let them go in another direction.  You are in the DC area, so you should really ask about what live clubs and groups they have in DC, for which there are quite a few compaired to Connecticut.  I know a few people talk about how the DC scene is great, so maybe some of them can post up some links to help you get out and meet people in real life, in a safe environment, and where you can be yourself.

Good luck, keep your antivirus updated, and learn to laugh online.   [sm=wall.gif]

thetab -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:11:35 PM)

I don't think the OP is crazy, but he did seem to make some bad decisions by contining to talk with this submissive.  If you haven't blocked her yet, do so, and any of her friends (who might just be her with different profiles, who knows).  It's good that you didn't actually meet her.  Good job on playing spot the crazy person on the internet.

angelwithhonor -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:11:54 PM)

According to the teachings of Seal you are only crazy if you don't want to fly.[8|]

In the mind of a crazy person it is everyone else who is really bizarre....  [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m9.gif[/image]

True dat.

QuixoticErrant -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:13:59 PM)

You are quite right.  I know, I really get that I should have just blocked her from the first sense that things were not quite right.  I made a newbie mistake there.  The partners I have met before have been in a more face to face way in the past.  Normally, I have many more queues to go from before talking with them.  It is normally my nature to at least give people a chance before rendering judgment.

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:16:20 PM)

It looks like she would give her side here. If she is following you around the internet, surely she read this thread.

QuixoticErrant -> RE: Question about Crazy People (2/7/2009 5:17:05 PM)

I assure you, I am talking to other people.  What prompted me to post this was that I am getting mails from others about it now.  I am annoyed, and I wanted to see if others have had experience with things like this and find out how they dealt with it.
